Profile 6R is a high strength fibre cement corrugated roof sheet with polypropylene reinforcement strips inserted along precisely engineered locations that run along the length of the sheet. This provides maximum impact strength without affecting the durability of the product.

Tegral Agribild Plus is available in both a traditional sinusoidal (corrugated) profile and the box-like profile known as trapezoidal. The key criteria for deciding on which profile to use are cover-width and aesthetics. The sinusoidal profile from Tegral is available in two widths:

• 10/3 (762mm cover width) ideal for spaced roofing and curved roofing.

• 13.5/3 (990mm cover width) for maximum build efficiency.

The trapezoidal profile is available in one width:

• R32 (960mm cover width) which provides excellent build efficiency, with clean, sharp profile lines.

Condensation ControlCondensation occurs when humid air inside a building comes into contact with a cold internal surface such as the internal face of an un-insulated profiled metal roof.

The cooled air releases its water vapour in the form of condensation. The amount of condensation formed can depend on the building usage, the amount of natural or other ventilation and roof slope.

Condensation can be reduced by the use of natural ventilation provided by eave, ridge and wall openings. Tegral Agrivent Plus ventilated sheeting is ideally suited to help control condensation by providing optimum airflow without loss of structural integrity.

Further condensation control can be achieved by combining Agrivent Plus products with Condri material on the roof (see page 14).

Condri anti-condensation film is an industrial non-woven textile product that is applied to the underside of the roofing sheet. Condri provides up to 1 Litre/m² absorption capacity which is the best available on the Irish market.

Key features and benefits:

• Supplied ready-to-fit: Tegral Condri is supplied with an anti-capilliary cutback on edges to be lapped which eliminates the need for on-site resin application and reduces labour costs by up to 50%.

• Reduces condensation, thus benefiting:

- Animal health in indoor environments - reduced veterinary costs

- Grain store / potato / bulb storage / plant rooms – reduced spoilage

- Workshop / garages / canopies – better working environment

- Warehousing / equipment – reduced spoilage of goods stored

- Riding schools / indoor arenas – Drier and more appealing internal surface areas

• Acoustic properties: absorbs noise from interior and exterior (rain noise).

• Grant Approved by Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

Condri

Ventilation requirements: To guarantee ongoing performance, Condri needs to dry out during the daytime, which is why adequate ventilation of closed buildings is essential.

Condri is not recommended for bovine or animal housing that requires power hosing.

Tegral offers a comprehensive range of translucent profiled sheets. Tegral’s translucent sheets are the MARLON CS / LONGLIFE / 1.2mm high performance profiled polycarbonate roof sheet manufactured by Brett Martin. The sheet is characterised by high optical clarity, light transmission and exceptional impact resistance. They are available in the full range of Tegral standard profiles.

The sheet has a co-extruded layer on the outer surface of the sheet which forms a barrier resistant to the detrimental effects of UV light, minimising long term yellowing and maintaining mechanical properties.

Tegral Rooflight sheets conform to a non-fragility rating of CLASS B and are available in fire classification ratings to suit industrial and agricultural applications.

Note: Use of Rooflights is regulated and must adhere to the non-fragility requirements of the Health & Safety Authority of Ireland.

Connection Detail

Technical InformationCladding and roofing sheets should be separated from timber purlins by using a D.P.C. type barrier. Avoid prolonged direct sheet contact with aggressive chemicals such as silage, slurry, fertilisers, etc. If the coating of Agribild Plus is damaged and the metal substrate is visible, apply touch up paint to the exposed metal by “artist” brush method.

Buildings that are subject to the accumulation of salt spray need special treatment, particularly those less than 2km from the sea, where all cut edges of exposed Tegral Agribild Plus roofing sheets should be coated with touch-up paint. In addition those areas of sheeting not exposed to the washing activity of rainwater (e.g. under eaves), should be washed regularly with fresh water to prevent the accumulation of salt spray. In extreme marine conditions Tegral Agribild Plus may not be recommended. Avoid sheet contact with water run-off from copper, lead and related alloys.

To ensure that you get the most from your Tegral metal sheets we list below some basic recommendations for handling materials and fixings on site.

• Always store sheets under cover and away from open doorways.

• When hoisting sheets onto a roof make sure the sheets are protected. Always use ropes, not chains.

• Take care not to store sheets where people will walk on them. Always use crawling boards when laying and fixing sheets.

• Take care not to drag sheets off a pile. Remove them by turning them off the stack.

• Always use a hand shears or mechanical nibbler to cut sheets. We recommend you do not use a cutter or angle grinder as these only burn the coating but leave diminished galvanised protection for steel and rust will follow very quickly.

• Always remove drilling swarf immediately.

Colorgalv is Tegral’s low cost roofing and cladding product, suitable for low-humidity farm buildings or general purpose buildings.

It is available in two colours, slate grey and dark green.

For roofing, it comes in two profiles; Colorgalv 13.5/3 and R32.

Colorvent vented sheeting is also available in the same two colours. The two profiles available are Colorvent 13.5/3 and C32.
