A word from Tracey, the founder
• A few facts about me:
– Grew up in Birmingham, Alabama
– Live in New York City (Actually, Brooklyn)
– Spent 10 years of my career all over the world (in many countries)
– Have a particular love for ‘hospitality’
– A runner- 30+ half marathons, 1000 miles last year, 5 full marathons
– Am a certified R.R.C.A. running coach
– An executive officer at Foot Locker (global strategy and finance)
– My mother, a professor, who taught me the importance of education
– My fundamental belief- that ONE person can change the world

What are the guiding hopes for the program?
• That you meet each other
• That you meet a friend
• That you learn about another culture, and in turn learn more about your own
• That you learn some important life skills
• That you get a little healthier, or a little faster, or a little more confident!
• And…that you HAVE SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!

How do the classroom sessions work?
• 1 hour sessions every week, consisting of 3 parts:
– 15 minute “Culture” check in
• Solicit feedback on what the girls have learned from their 1:1 training buddy from different
locations
• Go over the homework questions, which you should discuss with your buddy
– 30 minutes on content/skills
– 15 minute “Running” check in
• Solicit feedback on how the training is going, make sure we are still heading towards our physical
goals

• During the 2nd semester of Culture Relay, the participants will have the
opportunity to put what they learned in Phase 1 into practice
• We will create a nurturing space for the girls to choose a local
community project they think is impactful and that can be scaled
• Culture Relay will provide mentorship and planning to help the girls
instigate these projects, and potentially seed fund such activities

What we will need from you ladies!
• Buddy relationship:• At least 1 Skype exchange per week between buddies (teams of girls to
work out time)
• Unlimited texts between buddies on Skype
• Formal 1 page summary of what each girl has learned with their buddy per week (we will review 3 pairs of girls each session)
• Following ‘guidelines’ for questions exhibiting our core values of Culture Relay: open mindedness, respect, patience, curiosity
• Summary of program of 1 page by each girl (in English)
• Classroom session attendance:• Must attend all classroom club sessions and also out of school trainings
• Running practice:• There are 2 sessions per week and we need you to show up!
