and its Committees are accessible at http://www.flasports.com/. I. Call to Order and Chair’s Remarks
Chair Jesse Biter convened the meeting at 12:01 p.m., on August 9, 2018, with the following members present: Jesse Biter, Leticia M. Adams, Mike Dyer, Frank E. Gernert, Frank Kelleher, Patrick Lawlor, Jack Peter, Kevin Smith, Lynn Thompson, Keith Tribble, Bill Wickett, Kay Rawlins, and Jarred Diamond. Rick Nafe, Caleb Quaid, Joanne Fava, Marcus Bach-Armas, Sean Flynn and Claude Delorme participated by phone.
Chair Biter thanked Board members for attending and welcomed new members of the Board. New members provided a brief introduction. Chair Biter thanked the ISC team for hosting the meeting. Lori Campbell-Baker from the Daytona Area CVB welcomed the Board to Daytona.
II. Public Comments. There were no requests for public comments. III. Approval of Minutes (Action) A. Board of Directors Meetings held on May 23, 2018
Chair Biter asked for a recommendation to approve the May 23rd meeting minutes. Mr. Wickett moved approval of the minutes, as presented. Mr. Dyer seconded the motion, and the members concurred unanimously.
IV. Grant Committee Report
Grant Committee Chair, Bill Wickett acknowledged two visitors who made presentations for major grants. Eric Poms presented on the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship game. Rob Higgins presented on the 2021 Super Bowl LV. Bill Wickett asked for a motion to approve the two major grants: 2021 CFPNCG and the 2021 Super Bowl. Mr. Tribble moved the motion, as presented. Mr. Gernert seconded the motion, and the members concurred unanimously. Board Members were reminded of the conflict of interest policy and the requirement to report any conflicts and document abstentions. Bill Wickett asked for a motion to approve the remaining 41 grants documented in the Board meeting

materials. Mr. Peter moved the motion, as presented. Ms. Adams seconded the motion, and the members concurred unanimously.
IV. Financial Report (Action) Mr. Lawlor provided an update on the 2017-18 fiscal year’s budget and noted that the Foundation ended the year at $125,033 over budget. President Suggs shared plans to generate new revenue. Mr. Lawlor reviewed the specialty tag unbudgeted income and expenses and shared other unbudgeted income.
V. Specialty Plate Program Update President Suggs shared a new marketing commercial that the Foundation had produced for each professional team to play in the stadium at all events. The 15-second ad will be distributed to teams/organizations to supplement marketing efforts for sales of the specialty plates. Bill Wickett shared that the Lightning would like to move forward with a specialty plate redesign.
VI. Amateur Sports Update
Vice President Marvin provided an Amateur Sports update.
VII. Florida Legislative Update Mike Grissom provided an update on efforts to move the Orlando City Soccer specialty plate during the 2017/18 session. Additionally, he shared that an additional five million dollars appropriation request was made to support the upcoming major sports events.
VIII. Major League Baseball (MLB) Economic Impact Study Jason Hendrix shared the results of the 2018 study. IX. President’s Remarks
President Suggs thanked Board members for their service and thanked the ISC family for hosting the August meeting. The Foundation has introduced a new award to recognize the collegiate national championship teams throughout the State. Since January 2018, 12 teams have captured national championships, and each team was presented with a plaque from the Sports Foundation.
X. Concluding Remarks/Adjournment
Chair Biter asked for a motion to adjourn. Mr. Lawlor made the motion, Mr. Tribble seconded, and the members concurred unanimously. The meeting concluded at 1:37 p.m.
