PG

PARENTAL GUIDANCE

This rating means that the film is targeted for overall viewing

however some scenes may not be appropriate for children of

younger age groups. ‘PG’ also means that any child is

allowed to view the film on condition that they are escorted

by an adult.

Frozen is a film that

is aimed at children

but is rated PG as it

contains some

violence that may

not be suitable for

some children and

they need to be

accompanied by an

adult.

12A

This rating means that the film has been directed at ages 12

and over furthermore anybody under the age of 12 are

allowed to see the film as long as they are accompanied by

someone that is over the age of 18 which is classed an a

adult. The A does stand for accompanied and advisory this

means that if you under the age of 12 you will have to be

accompanied by someone who is older than 12.

Captain America is rated a 12A

as it has a lot of violence and

scenes that would not be

suitable for those who are

younger than 12. Also the

content and the language are

more advance meaning that

those of younger age may not

understand what is going on in

the film or what is being said.

Insidious is rated a 15 as

REVIEW

After reviewing the age ratings for films I have

decided that the age rating of 12/12a would be the

best one to sue for my film. I have chosen this age

rating for my romantic comedy because I feel that

content and scenes are suitable for this age group

and does not need to be a higher age rating. Also

by making it a 12/12a instead of a 15 it allows me

to allow a wider range of people to watch my film

therefore making my film more popular and be able

to make more profit.
