Elizabeth Montagu was a visionary socialite; a lady of considerable wit and a brilliant conversationalist. She hosted

a Bluestocking Society, by invitation here at the Royal Crescent in the 1770’s, where she and friends would gather

to discuss the affairs of the day and socialise. We have dedicated this afternoon tea in her honour.

The Duke of YorkFrederik Augustus ‘Duke of York’, was the second son of

George 3rd and in 1795 he visited Bath and lodged here at the Royal Crescent. Famed for his appreciation of life’s finer moments, we have named this afternoon tea in his honour.
