การประชมุเอเอฟเอสโลกประจำป ี2555 (AFS World Congress 2012) ซึ่งมูลนิธิเอเอฟเอส ประเทศไทย ได้รับเกียรติเป็นเจ้าภาพ ได้รับการประเมินผลการจดังานวา่เปน็ทีห่นึง่ของโลก โดยไดค้ะแนนถงึ 97% ผมจงึใครข่อขอบคณุ และแสดงความยินดีกับทุกๆ ท่านที่มีส่วนร่วมในการสร้างผลงานครั้งนี้

ความแข็งแกร่งของเอเอฟเอส ประเทศไทย เกิดจากอาสาสมัคร ผู้มีน้ำใจแบ่งปันทั้งเวลาและกำลังสติปัญญา ในการทำหน้าที่ได้อย่างดีเยี่ยม เพื่อความก้าวหน้าขององค์กรและสร้างความมั่นใจว่าเอเอฟเอสประเทศไทยจะครองความเป็นผู้นำเอเอฟเอสโลกต่อไปในอนาคต

ผมมีความยินดีที่จะเรียนให้ทุกท่านทราบว่า ปัจจุบันนี้ เอเอฟเอส ประเทศไทย กำลังดำเนินโครงการมากมายเพื่อให้สอดคล้องและสนับสนุนการก้าวสู่ประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียน (ASEAN Economic Community: AEC) โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในด้านการเสริมสร้างจุดเด่นในการพัฒนาภาษาภายใน 2 ปีข้างหน้า โครงการเหล่านี้จะเอื้อประโยชน์ต่อสมาชิกในกลุ่มประเทศอาเซียนและอาจขยายไปสู่ประเทศออสเตรเลียและนิวซีแลนด์ต่อไป ในขณะเดียวกันโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนเยาวชนกับประเทศสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีนก็มีแนวโน้มเพิ่มจำนวนมากขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่องอีกด้วย

The AFS World Congress 2012, organised by AFS Thailand, was evaluated as the best organised AFS congress in the world, having scored an impressive 97%. For this, I would like to express my deepest appreciation to all of you who took part in the event.

The strength of AFS Thailand could not have been this high without invauable contribution of all our precious volunteers who have dedicated their time and efforts in fulfilling their tasks efficiently -- all for the progress and confidence that AFS Thailand will continue to lead the AFS world in the future.

Currently, I am happy to inform you that AFS Thailand has been implmenting various projects in line with the integration of ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in the next two years. These projects, particularly those involving English language proficiency, will benefit our members in the ASEAN region, and expand to Australia and New Zealand in the future. Furthermore, exchange projects with People’s Republic of China also continue to increase.

สารจากผู้อำนวยการใหญ่มูลนิธิฯMessage from the National Director

ในปี 2555 ที่ผ่านมา มูลนิธิเอเอฟเอส ประเทศไทย มีการเติบโต ในการจดัสง่เยาวชนไทยเขา้รว่มโครงการมากกวา่ 40 ประเทศ จำนวนประมาณ 800 คน ซึ่งเป็นผู้เข้าร่วมโครงการในประเทศกลุ่มละตินอเมริกาจำนวนเกือบ 200 คน นับว่าเป็นจำนวนมากที่สุดในเครือข่ายประเทศสมาชิก โครงการ จีนอยู่หอพักก็ได้รับการพัฒนาปรับปรุงมาเป็นลำดับ และได้รับความนิยม เพิ่มขึ้นอย่างรวดเร็ว คาดว่าจะเพิ่มจำนวนเป็นมากกว่า 120 คน ในปีนี้ ส่วนการรับนักเรียนและบุคลากรต่างชาติเข้าร่วมโครงการในประเทศไทย ได้เพิ่มขึ้นเป็นจำนวนประมาณ 300 คน ซึ่งเป็นที่น่ายินดียิ่ง

สำหรับปี 2556 จะเป็นจุดเชื่อมต่อที่ดีในการที่จะพัฒนาและ เพิ่มศักยภาพของความเป็นผู้นำของมูลนิธิเอเอฟเอส ประเทศไทยต่อไป อีกทั้งจะส่งเสริมการก้าวสู่ประชาคมเศรษฐกิจอาเซียนในปี 2558 เช่นกัน

In 2012, AFS Thailand has seen a satisfactory growth as about 800 exchange youngsters were sent to more than 40 countries. Among them, almost 200 students have been hosted in Latin American countries. This is considered the highest group of students exchanged in the network.

The Chinese Intensive Language Program has also been growing gradually and has since gained popularity so quickly that the number is expected to exceed 120 this year. On the hosting side, the number has increased to approximately 300, which is delightful for us.

The year 2013 will be a good connecting point for further development of leadership integrity of AFS Thailand which benefits future integration of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015.

The AFS World Congress 2012, a grand convention of AFS partners from around the world took place at the Rama Gardens Hotel Bangkok from February 7-11, 2012. As the most impressive affair, the congress won international accolades, both for AFS Thailand and for our beloved country.

These successes are truly the fruit of cooperation and dedication among all stakeholders, for which I am expressing my utmost appreciation.

Admission & Volunteer and Program Development Department is, with the support from AFS volunteers from all over the country, responsible for the recruitment and selection of all AFS Thailand Sending programs. Meanwhile, it provides all volunteers the opportunity to enrich their intercultural experience and language skills by participating in the AFS Volunteer Exchange Programs. New programs are also developed to extend the service to the students and educators. At the same time, we seek cooperation from individuals and organizations in granting scholarships for Thai students who need financial aid.
