Environment

Using solar energy, natural ozone filtered swimming pool,

obtaining our water from a borehole, cleaning and recycling

waste water and sourcing biodegradable eco-friendly guest

amenies all add to our commitment to protecng the

environment.

Nature

When construcng lodges we use elements that have

minimal impact on the natural. Steel and canvas are used

where possible to avoid the overuse of natural wood

products.

People

Our staff are sourced from the local communies that

surround our eco-lodges. By working closely with these

communies we can set up meaningful and sustainable

projects.

Senses

We want our guests to enjoy the sounds, scents, touch,

views and tastes of nature. Agreements with surrounding

villages to buy fresh produce are not only sustainable but

allow us to create the most delicious food for our guests.

Educaon

Our goal is to provoke our guests' sixth sense and allow

them to experience nature like never before. We hope to

create awareness that the beauty they experience with

African Luxury Hideaways can only be sustained by nature

conservaon.

AFRICAN LUXURY HIDEAWAYS ECO-PROMISE:Our lodges are in the heart of nature

- our first priority is to be environmentally aware

and conscious with our developments

HWANGE

NAT IONA L

PARK

At 15,000 square kilometres Hwange Naonal

Park is the largest nature reserve in Zimbabwe.

Hwange boasts a tremendous selecon of

wildlife with over 100 species of mammals and

nearly 400 bird species recorded. The park is

well known for its huge herds of Elephants and

buffalos but is also home to a variety of plains

game and of course predators. Today the

populaon of wild dogs in Hwange is thought

to be one of the largest in Africa.

The most remarkable physical features of

Hwange are the shallow pans (lake-lets) and

natural salt-licks which aract animals from

the heart of the adjoining Kalahari wilderness.

PRIVATE CONCESSIONElephant's Eye, Hwange sits in its own private 6,000 acre

concession on the border of Hwange Naonal Park. The

numerous permanent waterholes on the concession aract

large amounts of wildlife throughout the year parcularly

during the dry season. Elephant's Eye, Hwange has a

number of guides qualified to help you make the most of

your experience by not only offering game drives but the

thrill and excitement of exploring the bush and seeing some

of Africa's biggest animals on foot.

A night drive on the concession can be very rewarding,

animals you may not even know existed come out to feed

whilst others' behaviour totally changes.

Staying at the lodge and relaxing on your balcony can

however be just as rewarding as there is never a dull

moment at the lodge's main waterhole.

GUIDES

Your guides will be Zimbabwean professional

guides & Zimbabwean licensed guides.

PAINTED DOG

CONSERVATION CENTRE

The Painted Dog Conservaon Centre is one of

the most successful wildlife organizaons in

Zimbabwe. They have effecvely re-introduced

and rehabilitated many wild dogs into the

naonal parks in Zimbabwe.

The wild dog populaon diminished from 500

000 to just over 3000 over the past 10+ years

because of a variety of reasons such as hunng,

snares, poaching, road-kills and bounty hunters.

The research staon is extremely passionate

about rehabi l i tang and changing the

percepon of the wild dog which is only found in

Africa.

HOMESTEAD VISIT

Zimbabwean people are famous for their

friendliness and hospitality. Lying just outside

the Elephant's Eye, Hwange concession is a small

homestead which our guests can visit to

experience the everyday life of a local family in

the Dete area. The visitors are greeted with a big

smile and a warm handshake.

A guide will accompany the group to translate

and introduce the family members living in the

homestead.

This is an eye-opening experience to be re-

educated about basic human traits like trust and

hospitality that many people in this fast-paced

world have forgoen about.

BUSH DINNER

An African bush dinner is a favourite amongst the

Elephant's Eye, Hwange acvies. We combine

world-class cuisine with a spectacular bush

seng. While you enjoy the most delicious food

you can listen to the sounds of the African bush

and wait for surprise visitors like a passing herd of

elephants or buffalos. Our friendly staff will make

sure that you will receive the outstanding service

you are used to – but in a unique and unforgeable

seng.

SUNDOWNER

An African classic - venture out with our

experienced guides whether on foot or by vehicle

and stop for your favourite drink in the middle of

the bush. Your guide will choose a picturesque

spot where you can enjoy the most beauful of

African sunsets. Let all your senses explore the

beauful and unique atmosphere of another

evenul day surrendering to another mysterious

night in the wilderness.

SLEEP-OUT DECK

The ulmate safari experience - sleep out in the

bush and enjoy the starry African sky on an open

deck. Featuring a large mosquito net covered bed

as well as an outside bathroom; this elevated

plaorm offers the most romanc escape in the

African bush. Watch the animals come to drink at

your own private moonlit waterhole and fall

asleep to the magical sounds of the African night.
