Our world-class fashion showcase aims to present an “Engaging” and “Eclectic” pallet of talented designers who come from different creative experiences, and will be on display through a presented series of wearable collections.
In addition, AFW-Houston will host a variety of social activities, seminars, performances and on-site shopping sessions for our special guest and patrons. We are proud to acknowledge that participants of this year’s African Fashion Week - Houston come from all around the world, including Europe, Asia, Africa, North America and South America!
CREATIVE IMPRESSIONSIt is our hope that our patrons and participants will not only enjoy an exciting fashion showcase. It is our hope that our patrons will be stimulated andinspired by the work and energy of every participant who has invested their creative perspective to the experience. We anticipate that the attendance for this year’s event will be around 2,000+ Patrons.

This is an opportunity to invite local small business and major companies from around the Greater Houston Area to promote their products & services, engaging in high-energy networking, and have the opportunity to connect with both patrons and buyers who support the promotion of doing business locally and internationally.
Our tradeshow case will feature educational segments on fashion, beauty and hair, and a live panel of industry professionals taking a topics related to the growing trend of African Fashion becoming mainstream worldwide!.

The Fall of Signature Essence is proud to announce that a portion of the proceeds raised from this year’s African Fashion Week –Houston 2015 will help support the Women’s Empowerment Foundation of Houston.
WEF is a recognized 501 3(C) Non-Profit Organization that devotes their time and energy to support & “passionately advocate the needy, hungry and the politically underrepresented members of our global society.” The platform of the organization is primarily focused on Empowerment of Women in the Greater Houston Area, applied through six of their major projects and platforms (i.e. the D. Kelly Project for Gun Violence Prevention).

LUCAS ESCADA
Lucas Escalada is a renowned fashion designer fromEquatorial Guinea. He has been called upon to runvarious fashion shows, organize beauty pageants forthe benefit of both the youth and women in hiscountry, while showcasing his line of indigenousfashions.
Lucas’ love for charity and fashion is what inspired himto be a fashion designer. By combining the two, Lucasfound he was able to do what he loved, whileexpressing his creativity, and giving back to hiscommunity. While living in the US, Lucas travelled to hishomeland to participate in various fashion events byinvitation of the government and by popular demand.Lucas was recognized as one the headline designersfor Malabo International Week and the host of the MissTourism 2013 Beauty Pageant.
In addition to his role in the world of fashion, Escaladaalso studied Political Science and Economics at theUniversity of Houston.

HOUSTON – On Saturday, August 16th, the Fall of Signature Essence (FOSE) concluded a successful debut of African Fashion Week (AFW) 2014 in the City of Houston with an exciting and stunning presentation of ethnic aesthetic on the runway at the official FOSE African Fashion Show, located at the Ayva Center.

Hosted by America’s Next Top Model alumni, Nnenna Agba and comedic trio The Wowo Boyz, the evening’s fusion of live music and performances was led by the electrifying and elegant presentation of 11 designers (Hafshelline, TeKay Designs, Just Belle, Southern Gents, Kachi Designs, Sanerd, Diva Style, Sebastian Faye, Oge Fashion and Precious Pieces Couture) from around the world. The elite designers had the opportunity to present their collection to over 200 attendees.
Special guest included Macy’s Department Store corporate representatives, Executive Director Val Thompson with Houston International Trade and Development Council, 2014 Deputy Miss Africa USA & Goodwill Ambassador - Hasifa Kivumbi, Lisa Amosu-Smith of My Trendy Place, Nenaji MEDIA, Houston Style Magazine, Fresh Broadcast Network, Adrian Johnson with Keep IT Klassy Modeling Agency, and many more. The audience was well entertained by the comedic relief of the Wowo Boyz, the groovy tunes of the evening house band (lead by popular Houston musician, Mr. VSAX), a powerhouse performance from international singing sensation Katumbella, and a breathtaking presentation by the popular South African dance troupe, Impande Ye Africa.
Over 60 different looks were presented by models against the white floral-theme and color lit stage (Designed by Temmie Omodu of T’soule Designs). From the regal and fine gold stitching signature designs of TeKay Designs, to the diversified body curved friendly presentation of Sanerd, and fun and colorful theme accessories presented by Precious Pieces, not a detail was missed by the talented designers who participated in the event.

The Fall of Signature Essence is a fashion lifestyle brand with an emphasis on producing tangible & high-energy event concepts (Fashion Shows, Seminars, Performances, Presentation, etc.) across the nation year-round.
We are in the business of promoting the fashion industry, while showcasing innovative and creative trends through diversified influences and life experiences.
It all began in 2007, when FOSE’s Executive Producer Nkem Oji-Alala flirted with the idea of combining fashion, comedy and music into one show, the same concept being used in the popular cable TV series, Rip The Runway.
It worked! The complements were overwhelming, and with over 600 patrons in attendance. Indeed, it was a success.
