CLASSIC SAFARI ITINERARY

Day 1 – Sunday 20 April 2014 Makutsi Private Game Reserve

Flight: Johannesburg to Hoedspruit

On arrival at Hoedspruit Airport you will be met and transferred to the lodge. Enjoy an afternoon of relaxing and

getting to know the camp and mineral springs. Dinner is served in the traditional open air ‘Lapa’. (D)

Accommodation: 6 nights at Makutsi Safari Camp including breakfast and dinner.

Day 2 – Monday 21 April 2014 Makutsi Private Game Reserve

Before breakfast your ranger will take you on a morning game drive in an open safari land rover, searching for

rhino, crocodile, elephant, lion, zebra, giraffe, cheetah, wild dogs and many other smaller creatures. The famous

'Big 5' can all be found on the reserve, but guides are trained to find and enjoy all aspects and animals of this

African bush, big or small. Enjoy a rest during the heat of the day followed by an afternoon game drive on the

Makutsi Game Reserve. (BD)

Day 3 – Tuesday 22 April 2014 Kruger National Park

Depart early this morning for a full day’s game viewing in the world famous Kruger National Park. The game ranger

takes breakfast along, and a stop is made at one of the many rest areas, where breakfast is served. Then off on

more game exploration until lunchtime, when you stop at one of the camps located in the National Park. (BD)

Day 4 – Wednesday 23 April 2014 Drakensberg Mountains & Blyde River Canyon

After breakfast depart for a full day of sightseeing in the Drakensberg Mountains and Blyde River Canyon. Stops

will be made along the way to take photographs and marvel at the awesome scenery. You will have the

opportunity today to view and purchase some of the local curios. (BD)

Day 5 – Thursday 24 April 2014 Sotho Villages

This morning visit nearby Sotho villages and learn about traditional culture and how life has been

sustained. Today gives you a good idea of what a local tribal village looks like. The excursion is authentic,

nothing is set up for tourists, this is real life! (BD)

Day 6 – Friday 25 April 2014 Makutsi Private Game Reserve

Enjoy your third open vehicle game drive on the reserve, either early morning or this afternoon. For the remainder

of the day, enjoy relaxing in the pools, reading on your terrace or visiting the Hippo Hide...let Africa take care of

Day 7 – Saturday 26 April 2014 Cape Town

This morning you will be transferred to Hoedspruit Airport for your flight to Cape Town. (B)

Flight: Hoedspruit to Cape Town (via Johannesburg)

On arrival in Cape Town you will be met at the airport and transferred in a private luxury air-conditioned coach

with an English speaking guide to the Winchester Mansion Hotel.

Accommodation: 2 night Winchester Mansion Hotel in a standard room including breakfast.

Day 8 – Sunday 27 April 2014 Cape Town

This morning after breakfast you will be met and taken on your full day Table Mountain with a short Cape Town

Tour. Then continue to Cape Point including boulders and Kirstenbosch Gardens – lunch at own expense
