Meaning: The green stripes represent Nigeria's agriculture industry and its luscious vegetation. The white stripe represents the desire for peace and unity within the country.

Meaning:  The red stripe represents the blood spilt during Ghana's fight for independence; the yellow stripe symbolises the mineral wealth of the country; and the green represents the fertility. The black five-pointed star symbolises African freedom and the African people.
