Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Funding Recommendations Announced Enterprise provides technical assistance to 14 of 25 projects Enterprise is proud to have provided technical assistance to collaborations well represented among the projects recently recommended by Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) program staff for funding. Twentyfive projects, totaling nearly $290 million, will be considered for approval on Oct. 11 by the Strategic Growth Council , which has historically adopted staff recommendations. Enterprise partnered on 14 of the projects recommended, supporting six applications in the city of Los Angeles alone. If approved, the Los Angeles projects represent a total of 669 units of affordable housing, a reduction of more than 90,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas and an investment of about $65 million of AHSC funding. A quick analysis of the recommendations reveals that the investment targets for affordable housing and disadvantaged communities were exceeded, representing 80 percent and 85 percent of recommended projects, respectively. In terms of geographic distribution, this list looks more diverse than last year’s final awardees – with projects located in Los Angeles or the Bay Area representing 52 percent of the pool, and rural projects coming in above the target with 14 percent. The Enterprise team is beginning a deeper assessment of the 2016 AHSC program and awards, which it will be sharing soon. Congratulations to the 25 teams whose projects were recommended through an extremely competitive process.
