Affiliation Marketing

Affiliate Marketing can be simply explained as earning money online by selling other people’s stuff.

To achieve success in this field, your website needs to be a user-friendly and professional website,

need to capture your share of the market in the competitive internet world and focus on driving

traffic to your site.

Feedy, the deal aggregator helps you to integrate the concept of Affiliation Marketing in your site.

There are four affiliate programs available in Feedy namely Commission Junction, Tippr, Living

Social and Groupon. It’s easy to integrate these programs in your site and is not time consuming.

This document deals with the detailed procedures of setting up each of the affiliate programs in

your site.

I Commission Junction Setup

Commission Junction a ValueClick company, is a global leader in the online advertising channel of

affiliate marketing. A publisher, also known as an affiliate or reseller, is an independent party that

promotes products and services of an advertiser in exchange for a commission on leads or sales.

Commission Junction's Affiliate Marketing Network provides publishers with opportunities to

partner with leading advertisers while having access to millions of links and offers. As a publisher,

you can partner with top-tier advertisers and maximize your revenue opportunities. This document

helps you to successfully set up the Commission Junction in your site.

I.a Registration

To include affiliate marketing in your site, you need to first register as a “Publisher” in the

Commission Junction website.

1. Go to https://www.cj.com/publishers/ and apply for a publisher account. The Sign-Up page will

appear.

2. Select your language preference, country and currency.

3. Click Next button to proceed to the next step.

4. In this step, accept the service agreement and provide your website details, contact

information and payment mode.

5. Click Accept terms button to finish. That's it! You have successfully opened a publisher account

with Commission Junction. Your username and password will be sent to your email address.

6. To get started, login using your username and password. The Publisher Home page appears.

7. Click Account → Web site Settings to view your Website Id.

The Website Id or PID is validated when you setup the commission junction in the Commission Junction Setup page.

I.b Apply to Advertisers

To add the advertiser details in the set up you need to apply to the leading advertisers for adding

deals in your site.

1. Click Get Links → Advertiser List to choose the advertisers to whom you wish to apply. The

Advertiser List page appears. You can also choose based on advertiser categories. Check the

advertiser have 'View Products' option. Feedy can fetch deals from the advertisers those

having 'View Products' option.

2. Select the advertisers from the list and click Apply to Program. When the advertiser approves

your application, the approval will be sent your email address.

I.c Getting your Developer Key

To get your developer key, you need to register in Commission Junction Web services developer

resource center.

1. Go to http://webservices.cj.com/

2. Click Register Now button to create an account. The Developer Key Registration page appears.

3. Enter the email address and password you use to login to the CJ Account Manager.

4. Click Submit button to proceed.

You have generated your developer key successfully.

If you do not have a CJ Marketplace Advertiser or Publisher account, you must create one prior to requesting a developer key.

I.d Integrating in Feedy

The Commission Junction Setup page helps to add the concept of affiliate marketing in your site. Publishers can tie up with leading advertisers to maximize revenue opportunities. Please visit https://www.cj.com/about/ to know more about Commission Junction.

1. Go to 'Admin → Affiliation Management → Commission Junction Setup'. The Commission

Junction Setup page will appear.

2. Enter your developer key and your website id. See for detailed information in

Commission_junction_setup.pdf.

3. Select the status as Activate or Deactivate. Deals will be fetched only if status is Active.

4. Click Validate button to validate your website id and developer key. On successful validation

the Advertiser Details section will appear.

In this section, you need to provide the details of your advertisers with whom you have a tie-up.

Deals will be fetched form the advertisers which you tied up in Commission Junction website. Deals will not be fetched in case of wrong advertiser id or advertiser whom you are not tied up.

Set the cron job */15 * * * * curl --get http://yourdomain.com/cron/ grabDealsFromCj.php to fetch deals from Commission Junction.

5. Enter the name of the advertiser, the website url, advertiser id.

6. Click Submit button to add the advertiser details. The added advertiser details will be listed

below.

II Tippr Setup

Tippr provides a full range of services for its partners so as not to compromise the uniqueness of

their own sites and content. Tippr.com has integration with hundreds of affiliates that serve as a

massive megaphone to syndicate Tippr’s offers nationally. From the technical to the creative to

merchant coordination and payment processing, Tippr’s team does most of the work so its affiliates

can run their businesses and websites.

To set up Tippr in your site, you need to first register as an “Affiliate” in the Tippr affiliates website.

II.a Registration

1. Type http://affiliates.tippr.com/ in the address bar of your browser. The Login page appears.

2. Click Affiliate Sign Up to create an affiliate account. The Sign-Up page will appear.

3. Enter the details namely, your name/company, email address and your website details.

4. Select the checkbox to accept the terms and conditions of the Tippr affiliate program.

5. Click Sign Up button to complete registration. On successful registration, your API key will be sent

by e-mail.

6. Go to Admin->Affiliation Management-> Tippr Setup in your site and copy, paste the API key.

The API key is subject to validation.

That's it! You have successfully opened an affiliate account with Tippr. Your username and

password will be sent to your email address.

Set the cron job */15 * * * * curl - get http://yourdomain.com/cron/grabDealsFromTippr.php to get deals from Tippr.

II.b Tracking Link

1. To get started, login using your email address and password. The Snapshot page appears.

2. Click Offers in the menu bar to view your Tippr offers. The Offers page appears.

3. Click the offer title to view the offer information. The View Offers page appears where you will

get the tracking link in Generate Tracking section.

4. Go to Admin->Affiliation Management-> Tippr Setup in your site and add the tracking link in

the Tracking Link Details section.

III LivingSocial Setup

To add daily deals of LivingSocial in your site, you need to first register as an “Affiliate” in the

LivingSocial affiliates website.

III.a Registration

1. Type http://affiliates.tippr.com/ in the address bar of your browser. The Login page appears.

2. Click Affiliate Sign Up to create an affiliate account. The Sign-Up page will appear.

3. Enter the details namely, your name/company, email address and your website details.

4. Select the checkbox to accept the terms and conditions of the LivingSocial affiliate program.

5. Click Sign Up button to complete registration.

That's it! You have successfully opened an affiliate account with LivingSocial.

III.b Tracking Link

7. To get started, login using your email address and password. The Snapshot page appears.

8. Click Offers in the menu bar to view your LivingSocial offers. The Offers page appears.

9. Click the offer title to view the offer information. The View Offers page appears where you will

get the tracking link in Generate Tracking section.

10. Go to Admin->Affiliation Management-> LivingSocial Setup in your site and submit the

tracking link.

IV Groupon SetupGroupon is the daily deal website that connects merchants to consumers by offering goods and services at a discount. Affiliates can now easily create sharable links with their affiliate ID. It is simple and quick to create your trackable links and get them out to your network. Become a Groupon Affiliate and get paid to share Groupon deals.

By default Feedy provides support for Groupon.com feeds, from which the daily deals are fetched. When you integrate the Groupon Affiliate program, the Tracking Link will be appended with the deal url. The Groupon Affiliate program does not relate to fetching deals.

IV.a Registration

1. Go to http://www.groupon.com/pages/affiliates The Affiliates screen appears:

2. Scroll down to the Affiliate Toolkit section in the Affiliates screen.

3. Click Affiliate Link Generator to create an affiliate tracking link. The Groupon Bookmarklet screen appears.

4. If you are registered with Commission Junction, go to Account>Web site Settings to view your PID(Publisher ID).

5. If you need to register with Commission Junction, click the Get Started button. The Groupon Publisher Application screen appears.

IV.b Tracking Link

1. In the Groupon Bookmarklet screen, enter your PID and click the Submit button.

2. Bookmark the Groupon Affiliate Bookmarlet link to install.

3. Go to any Groupon page and click the bookmarlet to generate links.

4. Click Affilate Link Code. The CJ Affiliate Link window appears.

5. Copy and paste the Direct Link as shown in the screenshot below in the Groupon Setup page.

In the above example (http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-4091034-10872943?url=) is the tracking

link to be added.

6. Go Admin → Affiliation Management → Groupon Setup. The Groupon Setup screen appears.

7. Add the Direct Link in Tracking Link and click the Submit button.

That's it! You have successfully integrated the Groupon Affiliate program in your site.
