[1]Describe the harmful effects of pollutants from exhaust gases of auto vehicle on atmosphere and human being. Effects on atmosphere – (1) Co2(carbon dioxide) – - Carbon dioxide is one of the major parts for greenhouse effect. - Depletion of ozone layer. - Increase the atmosphere temperature. - Global warming - Climate change (2) Nox(nitrogen oxide) – - Reason for acid rain - 8% global warming increase (3) Co(carbon monoxide) – - Co produced from incomplete combustion - 2/3 of world co gases - Earth's climates change Effects on human beings – (1) Co2(carbon dioxide) – Central nervous system, impairing physical co- ordinate, Vision & Judgment, Headache, Reduce worker productivity

- Carbon dioxide is one of the major parts for greenhouse effect.- Depletion of ozone layer.- Increase the atmosphere temperature.- Global warming- Climate change

(1) Nox(nitrogen oxide) –- Reason for acid rain- 8% global warming increase

(2) Co(carbon monoxide) –- Co produced from incomplete combustion- 2/3 of world co gases- Earth's climates change

Effects on human beings –

(1) Co2(carbon dioxide) – Central nervous system, impairing physical co-ordinate, Vision & Judgment, Headache, Reduce worker productivity

(2) Nox(nitrogen oxide) –Pulmonary dieses, susceptibility of infection eyes, nose irritation

(3) So2(sulfur Dioxide) –Lung function

(4) Pm(particular matter) –Long term disorder, Lung tissue

[2]Discuss the emission norms and procedure for confirmation of Bharat Standard-I, II, III, IV.

The exhaust gases from I.C engine mainly contains unburned hydro carbons, carbon monoxide for air pollution which causes health hazard and bad effect on the crop also.

There for the government has imposed on emission stranded which limit the amount of pollution emitted by the engine into atmosphere.

The government of India has accepted the emission norms laid down by Bharat these are known as Bharat norms.

Automobile industrial association of India developed Bharat – I norms first in 1999 which were enforced in New Delhi and Bharat – II are effective from April 2000 throughout India.
