Status of the project
Winding of AFC 1 and 2 are complete and look to be of very good quality – shown here with outer insulation prior to welding of bobbin outer (right)
•Most components are in hand and assembly is proceeding•Welding of covers on bobbin nearly complete

Recent Progress and Status
Parts look to be of good quality
Current lead assemblies
Suspension System

Critical areas
Schedule analysed at meetings to highlight critical path items – this has worked well – used this to get engineering support in the right areas
Critical path at the moment is the Outer Vacuum Can assembly which is proving complex and time consuming. WL spending some time with them to understand this
Some risk mitigated by testing cryocoolers prior to installation – this has been very valuable
Control system needs to be ready – trying to keep on top of this issue
Power supply specifications have been difficult to interpret in the context of operation with the AFC – we are keeping on top of this
