The Alliance Française of Dar es Salaam (AFDAR), is a registered Tanzanian non-profit organization run by a Board of Directors comprised of professionals, cultural figures and operating with the support of the French Embassy. It was founded in 1961 and is located in Upanga.

AFDAR is also part of the first multinational non-profit organization, the Alliance Française worldwide network, which exists for 133 years, and is present in 135 countries with over 1000 Alliances Françaises, all working towards the same aims and objectives to provide access to the French language and culture, as well as to promote cultural diversity.BA

Kiswahili languageToday, Kiswahili, is spoken throughout East Africa, and it is the most widely-spoken African language that’s why AFDAR offers Kiswahili class to the general public to meetthe equirements ranging from everyday communication to government and commerce.

In our classes we focus on maximizing interaction between students and teachers. Our teachers are native speakers and offer the hands on training that will enhance your learning experience.

Alliance Française has been offering translation services since its establishment in Dar es Salaam. The translation is based in English, Kiswahili and French languages only.

Our services are fully recognized by the Tanzanian authorities due to the quality, reliable, standards and accurate translation services offered by our organization.

The translation department is comprised of a panel of qualified and experienced translators in the said above domains who translate technical, small and large documents, as well as provide interpretation services to groups, individuals in the event of meetings, conferences etc.

TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETATION SERVICES

Alliance Française venues consist of the exhibition hall, which can accommodate 150 people (banquette style), outdoor stage which can accommodate more than 200 people and 6 meeting rooms.

The venues can be hired for various events according to your demand.

The rental charge includes costs of using AFDAR’s projector and Sound System.
