Operation. AccuGrade Cross Slope isa grade control system designed tocontrol surface cross slope. Machine-mounted sensors are used to calculatenecessary blade slope positioning toachieve desired cross slope of the
surface. The system makes automaticadjustments to the left or right liftcylinder, typically performed by theoperator. The in-cab display deliversall of the AccuGrade Cross Slopeinformation the operator needs toquickly and easily spread or cutmaterial at the correct cross slope. The operator can select which side of the blade to control automatically andswap direction on the return pass withoutreadjusting the settings. Elevation iscontrolled manually by matching grade,
or automatically by adding an elevationcontrol device.
Cross Slope System. The basic crossslope system automatically controls theslope of the blade to maintain desiredsurface cross slope.
Cross Slope with Elevation Control.AccuGrade Cross Slope can be combinedwith one or more of the AccuGrade
elevation control technologies, such asAccuGrade Sonic, AccuGrade Laser,AccuGrade GPS, or AccuGrade ATSfor automatic control of elevation andcross slope.

Operation. AccuGrade Laser is anelevation control system designedfor precise grade control with tighttolerances using a laser transmitterand receiver(s).
A laser transmitter is set up on thework site and creates a constant gradereference over the work area. A digitallaser receiver is mounted on the machineand senses the laser signal as the
machine moves across the work site.
The system captures elevationinformation and calculates the bladeadjustments necessary to achieve grade. The system makes automatic elevationadjustments typically performed by theoperator and provides automatic bladecontrol to one or both sides of the blade. The operator simply steers the machine. The system also calculates cut/fillrequirements for manual blade control.
Single Laser System. When combinedwith AccuGrade Cross Slope, the singlelaser system provides automatic bladeadjustments to one side of the bladefor automatic control of elevation andcross slope.
Dual Laser System. When two laserreceivers are used, the system providesautomatic elevation control to both
sides of the blade for fine gradingwith tighter tolerances.
Laser Transmitter. A laser transmitteris mounted on a tripod so the laserbeam can rotate unobstructed above themachine. The laser transmits a plane of light above the work area, which allowsseveral machines to work effectively inany direction using one laser transmitter.
Laser Receiver. An all-new digital laserreceiver is mounted on an electric mastabove the cutting edge and is used todetect the laser beam. The receiverpicks up the position of the lasersreference plane position relative tofinish grade and measures heightdeviation from the on-grade locationto the laser beam strike. The receiversends blade position information back to the system to calculate necessaryadjustments. A full 360 degree laserdetection range allows the receiverto pick up the laser signal from anydirection on the work site while themachine is working.

Operation. AccuGrade ATS is a high-accuracy dynamic tracking system thatuses an Advanced Tracking Sensor (ATS)to track a machine and monitor bladepositioning. An ATS instrument on thework site is used to track a target, whichis mounted on the blade of the machine,to determine precise 3D positioning.
Active target technology allows thesystem to reliably lock onto and track
the intended target. This ensures thecorrect machine is being tracked andeliminates false lock-ons to other activemachine targets, survey crews, orreflective surfaces. Built-in searchintelligence allows the system toquickly search for and find the targetwhen the lock is lost due to a passingvehicle or other interruption.
The ATS instrument continuouslymeasures the targets position andtransmits real-time positioning datato the operator via the in-cab display, which shows the exact position of theblade in relation to the design.
The system combines the position of thetarget with the known position of theinstrument, machine measurementsand sensor outputs to calculate precise
positioning of the blade tips. The systemuses the positioning data to calculatedesired elevation and cross slope.Cut and fill values are computed bycomparing the position of the bladewith the design file. The system makesautomatic blade adjustments typicallyperformed by the operator and providesautomatic blade control to one or bothcutting edge tips.
AccuGrade ATS puts the informationthe operator needs to complete the jobin the cab. The operator simply steers
the machine to achieve fine gradesurfaces with high-precision accuracy.
ATS System. When combined withAccuGrade Cross Slope, the ATS systemprovides automated blade adjustmentsto one or both sides of the blade forautomatic control of both elevationand cross slope.
ATS Instrument. The ATS instrument isa robotic total station that makes high-precision measurements of the azimuth, altitude and distance to the target.Specially designed servomotors work with the tracking software to allow theinstrument to track a target moving attypical machine speeds. If the target islost, the instrument predicts the speedthe target is moving so it can relocatethe target.
