Advertising Plan (RR)

1
Advertising Plan: Repeat Records (Horse Party/Gavin ChappellBates Releases) I feel that the product should be advertised along different platforms and mediums, such as print, video and social media. The target reach should be for teens and young adults (15-25), as they are the more impressionable and often have more disposable income, however they may be more likely to download the music rather than buy it physically. I believe that in order to try to make the audience buy physical copies, we should focus on social media advertising (to reach a wider range of people). Both products are available physically, however you get a digital download if you buy the physical copy. We could use this factor to tempt people. With the print advertising, I think our best bet would be to keep it as simple as possible, to catch the eye of the passer by or whatnot. We should keep the colours as minimal as possible (black and white if possible). Using a postcard would be handy for people to pick up and take away, but we couldn’t put much information on it or it wouldn’t draw attention. The idea of an A4/A3 poster however would give the option to put on more info about the bands and the releases (such as quotes, pictures of the artists etc.) The video element could highlight and bring attention to the singles from the releases, showing snippets of the music videos and hearing an excerpt of the songs. This could be very well received in social media, such as sharing on Facebook, retweeting on twitter etc. The concepts for the campaign are very monotonal and minimal, showing maturity of the artists. They show the bare minimum of information, intriguing the viewers to find out more themselves. The campaign’s physical prints will be put around Cambridge/Bury St. Edmunds in various café’s, music shops, music venues. The Horse Party record will be stocked in some shops, including the Relevant Record Café in central Cambridge. Budget is not a problem for the campaign, as we are using cheap methods to physically advertise, and the prices for social media advertising aren’t too high. I hope to have the designs completed by the beginning of February. Suggested Postcard Print (Single Side) Suggested A4/A3 poster
