Partners talk about what shapes they might see on their adventure? What shape is the pond?

It was a bright sunny day, Sam and Jen were going on an adventure with their dog Red. It all started at the park next to their house, it had a big pond and a path through the forest.





What shape is behind Red? What shape is in front of Red?

Jen threw a frisbee behind Red so he could catch it and not run into the stump that was in front of him.









Which shapes are below the chocolate scoop? What shape is above Sam’s head?

Sam went to get an ice cream cone with a scoop of vanilla below a scoop of chocolate. He also got a Klondike bar for Jen which he held above his head.







Draw your own shape clouds! Have your partner describe which shape cloud is above, below, behind, or in front of the other clouds in your drawing.

Sam and Jen decided to sit and watch the clouds while eating their ice cream. “What shapes do you see in the clouds?” Jen asked.



Can you give an example of next to and beside in the classroom?

Sam and Jen are off to play hide and seek. Sam hid next to the trash can and Jen hid beside the sign.









Oh no! It’s starting to rain, Sam and Jen need to get home. The quickest way is through the forest path. Will you help them choose the best way home?

Phew, they made it home! Time to take a rest and see what shapes will pop up in their next adventure.
