a communication platform designed for public signage

display size options. DSS integrates the digital signage

computing modules into an engine to manage dynamic

DSS is also a network-manageable client that can be

Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport

Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport is the largest airport in Taiwan and the 6th busiest airport in Asia, with the peak time traffic reaching 5000 people per hour. As part of the terminal I renovation process, the Taoyuan International Airport decided to install a digital signage system throughout the check-in counter, luggage carousel, and waiting lounge areas to provide real-time flight information. Advantech was selected to provide the media player—DSA-2130, to power an array of more than 300 displays—delivering concurrent targeted and synchronized content channels.

DSA-2130 supports the XML-based open API, which facilitates data integration from different database/servers to allow the playback of real-time information, such as flight status, luggage carousel assignment, etc. Also, DSA-2130 is a highly reliable platform, which ensures 24/7/365 operation in the airport environment. The low-profile and compact design of DSA-2130 makes it easy to install behind the display devices.

State Farm Digital Signage Network

With 17,000 agents in the U.S. and Canada, State Farm is one of the leading financialinstitutions offering a dynamic set of financial services. It is important for agents to inform their clients about complete product lines and services, as well as advertise the latestpromotional items. State Farm selected Digital Multimedia Solution (DMS), a full turnkey digitalsignage network operator, as the solution provider and as the project’s prime contractor.

DMS recognized that one of the crucial success factors in implementation is the industrial grade reliability of the signage platform, which reduces the total cost of ownership in the long run.Therefore, DMS decided to select the Advantech DSA-3400 as the digital signage platform to powerthe State Farm network. Advantech’s engineering and technical support team workedwith DMS through the evaluation process to ensure the best compatibility of ourDSA-3400 series signage platform with their chosen application software.

Digital Signage on Bus System

A 100% state owned public transportation service provider in Budapest, offers over 200 bus routes in the Budapest metro area, providing convenient public transportation to local residents and visitors. The company decided to implement a digital signage installation on 120 buses as well as in the bus terminals, targeting promotional advertising and location-based information to its customers.

Digital signage platforms operating in an in-vehicle environment require rock-solid reliability with non-moving parts, and a fanless system with low noise design. The Advantech DSA-2102 platform was chosen to power the Budapest-based digital signage network. By plugging in a wireless dongle, content can be remotely uploaded from a central server ensuring it is always relevant to passengers on the bus. In addition, the digital signage is used to display real-time images of bus locations to people waiting in the station.
