8/11/2019 Advances in Forging Technology 10-12 November 2014
2/2
Today's need of automotive industry is to develop a vehicle
with light weight and high efficiency. Using advanced
manufacturing technologies such as forging, it is possible to
design & manufacture a forged component in a cost effective
manner. The conceptual knowledge of lightweight materials,
forging process, heat treatment and their interaction with
each other is essential for an engineer to design a forged
component. Lightweight materials forging is among the most
important area that needs to be addressed by the
manufacturer in order to satisfy the customer requirements.
The aim of this training program is to elucidate the advances
in forging technology with an emphasis on imparting skills of
standard design concepts, simulation, manufacturing best
practices, & Characterisation. Also it is focused on OEM and
supplier agreement/selection of lightweight materials.

of Engineering (Pune), University of Alabama (USA),Tennessee Tech university (USA), Loughborough University
(UK) and University of Braunschweig (Germany).
has collection of around 14,000 books
& standards, 50,000 technical papers and numerous journals,
technical reports and seminar / conference proceedings. Itpublishes monthly magazine 'Automotive Abstracts' and
supplies CDs of CMVR Type Approval Handbook and
Automotive Industry Standards (AIS).
in line with Post Graduate and Doctoral
Programs conducted by various universities abroad, ARAIAcademy has devised various Proficiency Improvement
Programmes (PIPs), to be taught by ARAI, Academia &
Industry Experts. PIP gives engineers, faculty and student'sknowledge and technical expertise in a wide range of
automotive disciplines. It helps in understanding system's
view point for automotive design and manufacture, withspecific skills in formulating automotive engineering solutions
in terms of their function and performance, through optional
modules.Based on the present system in universities, credits are
proposed for each module, so that the graduate engineers canattend various modules and sum-up the credits required for
Master's or Doctoral Programs. Participants also get chance to
visit related laboratories of ARAI and get hands on experience.Certificates are issued on the basis of attendance & written
test conducted at the end of the programme. We also conduct
Training Programmes through WEBEX and Domain TrainingProgrammes for Automotive Industry.
