AMAC Overview

The Advanced Management Achievement Course (AMAC) is an accredited leadership and management development programme designed specifically for middle and senior ranking officers that are looking to move into a new career in non-military organisations.

Making the move into the business world isn’t easy. The expertise and skills you’ve developed in the military need to be refined and honed to fit the commercial environment. Running since 1993, AMAC is a highly regarded programme, intended to act as a springboard to further develop your existing expertise ready for a non-military career.

Cost The fee is made up of two elements: Teaching element - a resettlement retraining allowance can be claimed against the teaching fees of the programme by eligible ELC claimants Subsistence element - charges can be reclaimed as receipted items

Qualification Certificate of attendance from Alliance Manchester Business School Level 8 certificate in Strategic Direction and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute

Advanced Management Achievement Course

THE PROGRAMME• Provides an overall understanding of the

business environment

• Delivered through highly practical, interactive sessions

• Led by subject matter experts

• Incorporates workshops focused specifically on your needs

• Provides access to business in action on a pre-arranged company visit and through guest speakers in senior leadership positions

• Gives the opportunity to attend wider business school events that may be taking place during the course

• Lunches (Monday – Friday) and evening meals (Monday – Thursday) are included

• Accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

All AMAC delegates have military careers, whether still serving or having recently left the forces.

AMAC supports the ranks of:

• Army – Field Marshall, General, Lieutenant-General, Major-General, Brigadier, Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel and Major

• Royal Air Force – Marshall of the Royal Air Force, Air Chief Marshall, Air Marshall, Air Vice-Marshall, Air Commodore, Group Captain, Wing Commander, Squadron Leader

• Royal Navy – Admiral of the Fleet, Admiral, Vice Admiral, Rear Admiral, Commodore, Captain, Commander, Lieutenant Commander

Graduate entry officers with the rank of Captain, Flight Lieutenant or Lieutenant may also apply.

After the programme

After the programme, you automatically qualify for our Executive Education Network. Benefits of the network include information on new programme launches, top-class speaker events and opportunities to draw on the knowledge and experience of a growing network of peers.

Previous participants now have thriving careers in areas as diverse as not-for-profit organisations, commercial businesses and consultancy, working in roles including Senior Manager, Operations Director, Managing Director, Chief Executive and
