In most of the world, recipes use the metric system: This includes litres (L) and millilitres (mL), grams (g) and kilograms (kg), and
degrees Celsius
The USA, however, measures weight in pounds.
The USA also uses volume measures based on cooking utensils: This includes: Teaspoons, Tablespoons, Cups, Ounces, Quart, Gallon. We also measure temperature in Fahrenheit.
