on your parenting journey.

“ The best part of class
was connecting with
other parents who are
asking the same sorts of
questions about identity
and religion. It’s nice to
know you’re not alone,
and it’s fascinating and
fun to discover the
differences between us
and other parents. We
made wonderful friends
in the program.”

“ The course brought us closer to others who find themselves in this new arena of parenting teens. “ The other participants in my Me’ah class
were amazing, and it felt so special to
be there with them. We came from
different backgrounds and yet we were
all there to learn and explore. Many
times when a question was asked, I
remember thinking, I wondered about
that too. As different as we all are, we
were similar in our desire to learn more
about what it means to be Jewish.” — Deborah Jacobson, a Me’ah graduate, decided to
celebrate her bat mitzvah at age 51
Profession: Deborah works part-time as a bookkeeper at Levine Chapels, a Jewish funeral home in Brookline.
Interests: In addition to reading, Deborah volunteers at her daughter’s school and at her synagogue.

“ All of our instructors were terrific; they had very different styles and personalities. When we struggled with a reading, they were able to explain the meaning or thought in today’s terms. It was fun learning from college professors since we have college-aged children — I only hope their professors are as good!”
— Robin and Ernie Krieger belong to Temple Shalom in Newton, where they took Me’ah
Professions: Robin does sales and marketing for Ernie’s financial planning business.
Interests: Every year, the couple spends at least one vacation touring in their ’66 Rambler convertible. Recently their Rambler won a 3rd place prize from the American Motors Ramblers Club.
