Also included is a 2/3 standard size notebook binder for 1933-1936 with investigation cases listed chronologically, as well as numerically, with a brief description of name of party and type of case and a subsequent addition telling when the case was closed.

Arranged with folders in the front and the binder in the back. Some of the folder titles are by field division cities (Port-land, Salt Lake, Helena, San Francisco), others are by topic (allotment of funds, promotions and "general").

Consists of copies sent to the Division of Investigations of "decisions". These documents, most of which are one,and two pages in length, deal with closed cases and are signed (i.e.,stamped) by either the Commissioner or Assistant Commissioner of GLO. The great majority of them refer to grazing lease applications. Other subjects include homestead entries, ad proceeding orders, coal prospecting permits and mineral entrycancellations.

Arranged by Division of Investigations regions and thereunder by district land offices and thereunder in reverse chronolo order.

19. Card File for GLO Branch of Field Examination Cases, 1943-1947 approximately 9 cubic feet

Consists of 5 x 8 cards with data showing the name and address of subject, nature of case, land district and serial number and report of action taken thereon.

Some of these cards (those in 049-51Z0027 V) are arrangedwithin two separate wooden horizontal filing cabinets with three drawers each. Within the drawers the cards are arranged by state, thereunder by city and thereunder bycategory (homestead entry, grazing leases and "miscellaneous")and thereunder by name. Others were part of a 113 cubic feet "breakout" of index cards (orig~nally 049-51Z0027 ZU). For the most part the latter group of cards, which are in half-size boxes, are arranged by the four main western regions and thereunder alphabetically by name.
