In board meetings in Brussels, Belgium, the World Customs Organization (WCO) adopted the Framework of Standards to Secure and Facilitate Global Trade (SAFE for its acronym in English), which Mexico joined on the same date.

Objective: Facilitate and promote foreign trade in collaboration with the private sector, encouraging the establishment of systems and safety practices through standards.

The AEO Program in Mexico, called “New Scheme for Certified Companies” (Nuevo Esquema de Empresas Certificadas, NEEC).

It is a voluntary program designed based on the WCO SAFE Framework and in coordination with the private sector in order to increase security in the supply chain of foreign trade.

C-TPAT In the event that the company has a certification issued by the U.S. Government and its facilities have been validated, it may exempt the visit to these facilities and expedite the procedure.

It consists of 3 phases which together have a maximum service time of 140 days.

I. Documentary analysis to verify the tax and customs compliance.II. Ratings company profiles and physical inspection of the facilities.III. Resolution.
