Chapter 1. Overview

The IBM Kenexa Admin Application enables organizations to streamline, modernize, and add precision toAdmin application functions and configurations; increase workforce productivity, and connect employeesin ways that impact business results.

Document PurposeThis document describes the current release's changes to the IBM Kenexa Admin. Changes are eithercategorized as visible or configurable as follows:

Visible Changes immediately visible to the user without configuration, such as:

Configurable Changes that must be configured or turned on to be visible to the user,such as:

Chapter 2. Client Reminders

The Client Reminders section reminds clients of recently distributed important notices and links tocomprehensive documentation and training for the special features recently introduced.

Wildcard Search removed from User QueryThe removal of the wildcard searches from First Name, Last Name, and Email Address user queries wasdone to improve search question results. Search now looks for the Begins with value.

Before the April release, if you searched for part of a name (for example, Last Name Mith), search resultscame up related to Smith. After the April release, if the same search query is entered, no results wouldpopulate related to Smith.

In this example, you should search for the value Smi to return values, since this is the Begins with value.

Setting up Single Sign On (SSO)

Q: How do I obtain the ACS URL for IBM Talent Management Solutions?

A: If the ACS (Assertion Consumer Service) URL is required during the SSO configuration in your IdPsystem such as Azure or Google, this information can be found in our each environment's SSO Metadatafiles as the "Location" attribute value of the md:AssertionConsumerService tag.

Q: Can clients put their new Signing and Encryption Certificates in the Signing Certificate and EncryptionCertificate fields?

A: Yes. The second field is for the update.

Q: Will the Talent Suite automatically uses the Signing and Encryption Certificates in the second field if theCertificates listed in the first field are expired?

A: Yes, if the Certificate Authority and the issuer DN did not change. If either of them changed, we cannotidentify that the two certificates belong together and therefore it would require an admin to schedule atime to go into the UI to place the new Certificate into spot 1 at the time the change needs to happen.

Q: When the Signing and Encryption Certificates in the first field expire, will the Certificates in the secondfield automatically move up to the first field location such that the second field will be blank and availablefor next year’s new Certificates?

A: No. There is not any automated move, but the certificate in the first field will be automatically markedas invalid when it expires. If the admin users come back the next year, they will be able to spot which oneto choose.

Q: When the IBM’s Encryption and Signing Certificates for the Talent Suite SSO in Production expires, willthe new IBM Talent Suite Metadata information (Encryption & Signing Certificate information) be availablefor the IBM Production Environment in this Knowledge Center?

A: Yes. Before the IBM Talent Management Solutions Certificate for SSO expires, a communication willbe sent to clients using SSO. The communication will have the details on when the new certificate will beactivated, how to obtain the new Certificate, when the old one will expire, the steps that may need to betaken by the clients, and what changes may occur in the metadata file, if any.

Q: Is there an annual date that these Certificates expire for IBM? Or, do these Certificates expire a yearfrom the date the SSO was set up between the client and IBM?

A: It is an annual, global date.

Q: Once the client has the new metadata from IBM Talent Management Solutions, the client needs toupdate their IdP system such as ADFS and resubmit to the IdP team. Is that right?

A: The client can pass the Certificate by extracting from the metadata file and/or pass the metadata filedirectly. However, depending on the configuration in the IdP system, the signature change might not evenbe needed. If they setup their system without a signature validation, their system would continue to workeven without them refreshing our Certificate.

Q: If a client is using Ping Identity for their SSO solutions, how can they construct their IdP SSO URL forTalent Suite?

A: The client would need to use PartnerSpId in their URL pattern as indicated in thePing Identity documentation at this URL location https://docs.pingidentity.com/bundle/pf_sm_publishingMetadata_pf83/page/pf_t_provideSamlMetadataByUrl.html. If theyuse PartnerId or PartnerIdpId, that will not work. (For example: https://clinet's-idp-url?PartnerSpId=https://2x.kenexa.com/sps/inboundSSOProd/saml20&TargetResource=https://2x.kenexa.com/wps/myportal/$tenant/client-name.)

Chapter 4. Visible changes

For the current release of IBM Kenexa Admin, there are visible changes to the IBM Kenexa AdminApplication. Visible changes alter the appearance or performance of the product without requiring anyconfiguration. The changes are immediately visible or available to users.

Relocation of Cookie Preference LinkThe Cookie Preference (trustArc settings) link has been moved to the Talent Suite User Interface (UI)footer.

Once the Cookie Preference link is selected the About Cookies on This Site window opens to allow theuser to view/adjust Cookie settings.
