Our S.H project will serve the Indo-Chinese community members in the Borough of Lewisham: Chinese &Vietnamese, as an ethnic minority with the refugee background, we’ve been providing services for ourcommunity members in the past three decades. We’ve a very strong connection with the members ofcommunity via the channels of our community services & Saturday school and organisational servicesbooklets & leaflets etc. have been distributed.
10. Transformation: Your ability to transform the way you work to better meet needs.
The S.H project have been working partnership with local social services Dept. Housing neighbourhoodoffices, Education authorities, Waldron Health Care Centre, Police and Welfare agencies in order toprovide multiple comprehensive services to the Indo-Chinese community members who can enjoy ourservices without fear and feel confident to live in a warm & harmony environment.
11. Collaboration: your track record of working in partnership
As mention in item 10. The S.H project have been successfully operating to develop several projects forthe needs & demand of lndo-chinese community such as Home care services, Day centre services,training & employment scheme, bi-lingual day nursery and Saturday school etc. Due to the good locationof the community centre and the comprehensive services provided. Lewisham has become one of twothe most concentrate places of Indo-Chinese community in London.
12. Resources: your track record of attracting resources both financial and human.
Saturday community school, whole day Saturdays 930am — 3.3Opm and Kung Fu & Dancing classesafter school time — cater for 205 pupils from the age 4% till 1 8yrs old. 14 staffs, involved generating anincome of £50k yearly.

Elderly Home care services & Day centre services average 350 Home care hours and 30 Day centreservices day services per week to serve. 18 staffs involved it generates 280k yearly.
Bi-lingual Day nursery services which looks after 52 children from the age 6 months to 4% years old. 16staffs involved it generates 250k yearly.
Training & employment scheme. Co-operates with training agencies, it provides N.V.Q level 2 & 3 trainingcourses and Health care trainings for all our health care & day nursery workers.
12a. What is your reserve policy and current reserves status? Please explain how yourorganisation is financially viable.
Our reserve policy is to maintain the operation of service projects currently it allocates 500k for thebuilding maintaince fund. The rest of 1.4 million is for the future Elderly Shelter Housing Development.In the past 15 years we have got contracts of Health care services from S.E London councils and otherservices of community Saturday School. Day nursery have extracted a large number of parents topurchase the services.
13. Shared values: demonstrating your commitment to these (London Living Wage, equalities,and sustainability) and plans to improve on this.
As a charity non-profit making if having enough income from the councils, London living wage should beapplied to all our workers because our service is specialised language is most important to communicatewith our users whose mother tongue is non English. Therefore workers must be able to speak ourlanguage in order to deal with them & our organisation has developed an environmental protection rulesand procedures to request all staffs within the organisation members of management committee, servicesusers to fulfil their responsibilities.

1. Welfare, Housing, Education, Health advices & form fillings. 400 members are served.
2. Mother tongue education & culture study. 205 pupils attended. Dance & Kung Eu classes afterChinese tuitions.
3. To operate the elderly services & luncheon club. A Day centre for disable & wheel chairs users.Cultural celebrations are organised as well. 260 members are served.

4. Home care services. 30 frail elderly members are served for domiciliary & personal cares etc.
5. Youth activities. 200+ members attended.
6. To provide the employment services & training services (only for our own staff & workers) for thewhole borough of Lewisham. 450 families will benefit from it.
7. Outing & summer play scheme & cultural activities. 2350 people benefited.
8. Day nursery centre. 52 children from 6 months to 5 years old.

As the council does not fund enough resources to the S.H.P each year we need to find resources to coverthe shortfall. The project does fund a PIT community welfare worker (l4hrs) it cost an extra £13000 peryear. Mean while the project has totally generated approximately 600k from the elderly Health Care,Saturday school & Day Centre services etc. from those services, the S.H project is not only to cater for theneeds of services users, also has provided employment opportunities for more than 40 staffs. It is really avalue for money project.
