Additional InformationLeg: indicate which leg in sequence (from Black Butte – leg A, south, 5.7 miles; leg B, east, 4.1 miles; leg C (sea), north, 6.1 miles; leg D, west, 5.6 miles) TOTAL = 21.5 miles
Side: indicate which side of the road the rabbit was FIRST spotted on – left or right
Mileage: note the mileage from the start of the Black Butte gate (please give to nearest 1/10th of a mile)
Distance: measure the distance from the center of the road to where the rabbit was spotted in a perpendicular line; the spotlighter hold the light on the location where the rabbit was FIRST seen (even if the rabbit moves); the 2nd spotlighter follows the rabbit with their light so the rabbit isn’t counted twice
Species: LECA – Lepus californicus, black-tailed jackrabbit
SYAL – Sylvilagus auduboni, desert cottontail rabbit
