Exterior Containment Refer to The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) Guide No. 6, Guide for Containing Surface Preparation Debris Generated During Paint Removal Operations.

Containment for the reservoir exterior shall meet the following minimum criteria:

If the Contractor decides that exterior containment is not necessary for reservoir preparation and overspray, the Contractor shall assume all liability and risk if cleaning or adjustments are required.

Contractor will be required to provide non-containment information to City of Lacey prior to commencing any work on the coating.

If Owner’s inspector identifies visual monitoring showing preparation or overspray escaping off site or onto adjacent structures on site operations shall cease and a remedy provided by the Contractor. Any cleaning or adjustment shall be provided by the Contractor at no additional cost to the Owner. ITEM NO. 11: Section E Delete Part 1 of Section 13.31.23.13 Contractor Designed Welded Steel Water Tank [CSI 33 16 23.13] starting on page E 13-4 and ending on E 13-5 and replace with the following: 13.31.23.13 Contractor Designed Welded Steel Water Tank [CSI 33 16 23.13] Part 1 - General Design Criteria The tank shall meet all requirements of AWWA D100-11 and the seismic design requirements of the 2015 IBC. The tank shall also comply with recommendations in the geotechnical report. Design in accordance with sheet S01 Reservoir Structural Notes of the plans.

All materials shall be in accordance with AWWA D100-11.

Corrosion Allowance: 1/16 -inch corrosion allowance for all tank surfaces, including the roof, shell, walls, center column and floor.

The closest point of the piping connected to the bottom of the reservoir shall be a minimum of 12-inches beyond the unanchored bottom hold-down.

Per AWWA D100 13.3.3.7.2, provide sufficient freeboard to prevent detrimental effects of wave action. Provide documentation for Engineer’s review.

Access Systems

Railing Requirements: Simultaneous vertical and horizontal load of 50 lbf./ft. to top of rail transferred to the structure.

Railings also must withstand single concentrated load of 200 lbf. applied in any direction on top rail and transfer loads to the appropriate structural elements.

Loads do not need to act concurrently.

Intermediate rails shall withstand horizontally applied normal load of 25 lbf./ft.

ITEM NO. 12: Section E Add the following sentence to the end of Section 15.34.12 Reservoir Inlet Flow Control, Altitude, and Check Hydraulic Control Valve [CSI 40 05 67.51] starting on page E 15-6 and ending on E 15-7:

ITEM NO. 13: Section E Delete Section 15.34.13 Reservoir Outlet Flow Control and Solenoid Shut-off Hydraulic Control Valve [CSI 40 05 67.51] on page E 15-7 and replace with the following: 15.34.13 Reservoir Outlet Flow Control and Solenoid Shut-off Hydraulic Control Valve [CSI 40 05 67.51]

Part 2 – Products

Manufacturers

Valve shall be equal to Cla-Val Model 131G-14BEYKCX Electronic Interface Powertrol Flow Control Valve.

Manufactured Units

Flow control and solenoid shut-off valve shall limit the maximum flow rate through the valve regardless of the upstream pressure.

Control of the valve shall be through a pilot control that operates on a feedback signal from the flow meter. The pilot system shall be operated by electrical solenoid valves. The flow range through the valve shall be remotely adjustable to any value between 0 gpm and 6,000 gpm.

An additional solenoid control shall be provided to intercept the hydraulic operation of the valve and close the valve on the signal of a seismic controller.

The solenoid(s) shall operate on 120VAC/60Hz power. Upstream pressure will range from 5 to 40 psi, downstream pressure will range from 5 to 40 psi.

Valve shall be equipped to open on power failure.

ITEM NO. 14: Section E Delete Section 850-865 Reservoir Finishes (Exterior) on page E 18-3 and replace with the following: 850-866 Reservoir Finishes (Exterior) The lump sum price shown shall cover the complete cost of providing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the finish work on the reservoir as shown on the Plans and detailed in the specifications, including all exterior coating of the reservoir. Price shall also include all labor and equipment necessary for containment of the reservoir exterior to protect the
