Izmir is well-known for its historical areas, beautiful beaches and holiday resorts. Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) is the most convenient entry point to the Aegean region for the visitors. The city is closely located to major touristic districts such as Çeşme, Selçuk and Kuşadası.
Its massive tourism makes Izmir a lively city. The House of the Virgin Mary, located near Ephesus in Selçuk, is a holly place for Christians and visited by more than half a million people every year.
The tourism development plans of the Government regarding Izmir and its vicinity reveals that the bed capacity of the region will be increased from 40,000 to 100,000 by 2023. Ongoing investments in holiday resorts and conference halls will boost Izmir tourism and the area will become one of the most popular tourist destinations in Turkey for foreign visitors.
International Arts Festival, short film and jazz festivals and Izmir international Fair are some of many events held in Izmir.
ADB is closely located and well connected to the city. Transportation by bus to the city center takes only 20 minutes. Access is also available by shuttle buses, trains and taxis.

Izmir Airport’s (ADB) International Terminal is built in 2006 and has the capacity to handle 5 million passengers per annum. The international terminal is equipped with the latest technology for aviation systems, all contributing to the efficiency, security and speed of operations.
Upon taking over the domestic terminal operations in 2012, TAV also built a brand new domestic terminal for ADB. The construction of the new domestic terminal is completed in first quarter of 2014.
After the completion of the construction works of the new domestic terminal, ADB got a complete new look and improved to a higher service quality. Using ADB is simplicity both for passengers and airlines.
