On March 18, 2020 Actors’ Playhouse was thrilled and excited to open the Lerner and Loewe musical CAMELOT on the Mainstage as part of our 2019-2020 Season. COVID-19 turned the curtain on us when public buildings and theatres
were asked to close down because of the pandemic. The set was finished, beautiful costumes assembled and fitted, and the fabulous cast was ready to perform, but instead was sent home.
In the Actors’ Playhouse tradition, our team knew that “THE SHOW MUST GO ON.” We are proud that we can share this unique musically driven coral version of CAMELOT virtually to our subscribers, advance ticket holders, and the general public. The four principal actors and the character Tom display their wonderful talents to us in this new version created and directed by Artistic Director David Arisco with musical direction by David Nagy and sound and video production by Shaun MItchell. We can never tire of the show’s beautiful score, with our On Demand version sharing the memorable love triangle in its message.
We thank our patrons for their support of this project and for being part of our theatre family year-round. We appreciate Music Theatre International and the Lerner Loewe Estates for allowing us to share our musical version of CAMELOT with you today.
We send our best wishes to you and your families in hopes that you stay safe and stay well. Please keep tuned to actorsplayhouse.org to learn of our future cultural offerings until we can greet you at the Miracle Theatre in 2021.

ALAN JAY LERNER (Bookwriter and Lyricist) and FREDERICK LOEWE (Composer) wrote some of the American theater’s most memorable musicals, including My Fair Lady, Camelot, Briga-doon, Paint Your Wagon and Gigi. Among their most famous songs are ‘’Almost Like Being in Love,’’ ‘’I Could Have Danced All Night’’ and ‘’Thank Heaven for Little Girls.’’ Lerner was born in New York City in 1918 and attended Choate and Harvard. Loewe was born in Berlin in 1901 to Viennese parents, made his piano debut with the Berlin Symphony Orches-tra at the age of 13 and came to the United States in 1924. The two met in 1942 at the Lambs Club in New York City when Loewe approached Lerner about collaborating on a show. In 1947, they had their first Broadway hit, Brigadoon, followed in 1951 by a second success with Paint Your Wagonwhich in-cluded such songs as “They Call The Wind Maria,” “I Talk to the Trees” and “Wand’rin’ Star.” In 1956, My Fair Lady, with Rex Harrison and Julie Andrews, opened on Broadway. Often called the “perfect mu-sical,” the show ran for 2,717 performances and the cast album sold more than five million copies. Their 1958 film musical, Gigi, won nine Academy awards and, in 1960, came the last great success of their part-nership, Camelot, starring Richard Burton and Julie Andrews. In 1974, Lerner lured Loewe out of retire-ment to work on their last venture together: a film version of Antoine de St Exupéry’s The Little Prince. Lerner went on to collaborate with other composers including Burton Lane, Leonard Bernstein and Andre Previn. He died in 1986 at the age of 67. Loewe died two years later at the age of 86
BARBARA S. STEIN (Executive Producing Director) co-founded Actors’ Playhouse with her husband Dr. Lawrence E. Stein in 1988. Un-der her stewardship, Actors’ Play-house has grown into the largest self-producing not-for-profit professional regional Equity Theatre in Miami-
Dade County, a Florida Cultural Presenting Organiza-tion, and one of Miami-Dade County major cultural in-stitutions. Stein was instrumental in creating the role model private public partnership with the City of Coral Gables to renovate and restore the historic Miracle The-atre on into a three-stage performing arts facility, which is credited as the catalyst for the re-birth of the Coral Gables’ downtown district. Stein grew up in Miami and attended the University of Pennsylvania where she grad-uated with honors. Stein’s leadership has been acknowl-edged and honored by numerous organizations. She is among an outstanding group of women in Sherley Bush’s photographic exhibition “Florida Woman of

Grandkids can’t wait to see what will happen when they visit The Palace. One thing they know for sure is that Grandma won’t be sitting alone in her room in front of the TV with nothing to do.
The Palace has been honored as America’s #1 senior community for its social calendar and activities, and you’d be amazed how our entertainment program rivals a cruise ship. Every week there are live shows on stage, events to join in, classes to learn and songs to sing. We even have a free Happy Hour every day.
Best of all, with so much to do, the whole family is invited to join us. And they do! Every week our dining room is filled with big family tables. They celebrate birthdays and holidays with us. For many of them, The Palace becomes the center of a new family life together. And sometimes, they even get to watch Grandma win a dance contest.
