4 SHOWBILL

Dear Friends,

WELCOME BACK!

After almost two years of our Mainstage being dark because of the pandemic, I am very happy and pleased to welcome our guests back to the Miracle The-atre. ¡FUÁCATA! or A Latina’s Guide to Surviving the Universe was origi-nally scheduled for June 2020 as part of our previous season. We are thrilled

to present this hilarious play written by Elena María García and Stuart Meltzer today, with Elena María García playing over 20 characters.

Actors’ Playhouse is pleased to thank the show sponsors of this production: Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, The Cultural Affairs Council, and the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners; Sponsored in part by the State of Florida, Depart-ment of State, Division of Arts and Culture and the Florida Council on Arts and Culture; With Support of the City of Coral Gables; Bacardi, U.S.A.; Azamara; and media sponsors NBC 6 South Florida, South Florida PBS, and Spanish Broadcasting System, Mega TV, and Zeta 92.3 FM.

The past months have been extremely challenging for our theatre industry. I want to share our sincere appreciation to the government agencies, and many individuals and supporters who have helped us during the pandemic. Under the most unusual circumstances we have been able to sustain our nonprofit organization as we carefully moved forward planning our 2021-2022 Season. I encourage our patrons to subscribe to our 2021-2022 season and be part of the team who cares about culture in our commu-nity. Subscribers are the FOUNDATION of our nonprofit organization. When you subscribe, you are guaranteed premium reserved seating, a 20% discount off single ticket rates, and a chance to support the theatre. Subscribers also receive a membership card offering exclusive benefits to Coral Gables’ finest restaurants.

We want you to know that we understand community concerns during this tumultuous time. Please be assured that we are taking all precautions for the wellbeing of our guests, staff, and actors by following CDC safety guidelines. Restrooms have been upgraded with touchless fixtures and the HVAC system is certified at the highest level. Social distancing will be in effect until it is all-clear to fully assemble.

It is our privilege to once again be able to offer our patrons a chance to win an $8,000 cruise on Aza-mara this season. You are eligible to win this luxury cruise anywhere Azamara sails for a generous $250 donation. And with only 100 tickets issued, your chances to win this cruise are better than the lotto.

The Actors’ Playhouse 30th Annual Reach for the Stars Virtual Gala Auction presented by Lexus of Kendall will be held September 25th at 6 p.m. The prizes at our auction are sought after year by year by discerning shoppers. There is something for everyone at the auction including a one-year lease for a Lexus 2022 RX.

It’s all happening at the Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables, and your support for our professional re-gional theatre company is invaluable to sustaining an important cultural institution in our community. Please share your experience with your family and friends. I look forward to greeting you again at our next show.

Theatrically yours,

Stein grew up in Miami and attended the
