DELIVERY• Working in pairs, children should complete the quiz, selecting the

• A timer element is included in the quiz so working pairs can compete to see who completes each section the fastest.
• If time permits at the end of the activity, run through some of the key equipment and behaviour advice with the whole group. Challenge children to suggest reasons for including some of the equipment and safety measures and ask why they think these might be important.
EXTENSION ACTIVITYChildren can be set a task to create a safety poster for one of the watersports covered in the quiz. Using the knowledge they have acquired during this activity, and researching additional information on the internet, they should create a poster demonstrating best practice for their chosen sport. The RNLI’s website, RNLI.org should be signposted for additional, reliable information.
This interactive water activity quiz encourages children to consider the safety equipment and measures they should implement before they take part in some of the more popular watersports.
