Report The ASHDS President for Balochistan meets the ICRC Head of Sub Delegation Venue: ICRC office Quetta Date: 14 th Jun 2011 At its three physical rehabilitation centers in Peshawar, Quetta and Muzaffarabad, the International Committee of Red Cross/Red Crescent (ICRC) continues to provide prosthetic devices and physiotherapy services for people who have lost limbs in fighting or other weapon-related incidents. In March and April, the three centers provided services for over 2,400 people with disabilities. With identification of So Two Ahmer Social and Human Development Society (ASHDS) Mastung Baluchistan team members, Meer Nasir Ahmed & Kabir Ahmed Lehri, departed from Mastung to Quetta to visit the ICRC office. The head of the ICRC Sub Delegation in Balochistan Mr. Vincent Ballon and his colleague interpreter and Protection Mr. Masayoshi Yamanaka welcomed the ASHDS team. At its three physical rehabilitation centers in Peshawar, Quetta and Muzaffarabad, the International Committee of Red Cross/Red Crescent (ICRC) continues to provide prosthetic devices and physiotherapy services for people who have lost limbs in fighting or other weapon-related incidents. In March and April, the three centers provided services for over 2,400 people with disabilities. With identification of So Two Ahmer Social and Human Development Society (ASHDS) Mastung Baluchistan team members, Meer Nasir Ahmed & Kabir Ahmed Lehri, departed from Mastung to Quetta to visit the ICRC office.

The head of the ICRC Sub Delegation in Balochistan Mr. Vincent Ballon and his colleague interpreter and Protection Mr. Masayoshi Yamanaka welcomed the ASHDS team. After a short introduction of both sides, the ASHDS President Meer Nasir Ahmed presented ASHDS profile to the ICRC and said that ASHDS was gathering information about people with disabilities living in Mastung District. Mr. Vincent Ballon appreciated ASHDS work and the achievements as presented. The head of the ICRC gave a briefing on ICRC work for disables living in the entire Province of Balochistan. The ICRC has a physical Rehabilitation Centre in Quetta that helps disabled people according to certain criteria. Prosthesis, Orthesis, crutches and wheelchairs are among the services provided to vulnerable disables that meet these criteria. The chief of the ICRC invited Meer Nasir Ahmed to visit the ICRC Physical Rehabilitation Centre in order to better know the services that are offered and the criteria for the people with disabilities provided by ICRC.
