Using University social media to express the lecturers views need to be investigated, as it provides an external interface to engage with a wider community.

The freedom to express controversial opinions without prejudice or breaking university rules is important.

• Discuss the issue with the lecturer in a friendly non-aggressive manner• Determine if any university policies were broken• Hold a discussion/debate on the issues raised• Free speech is a fundamental part of this country, and it must be respected
