Recommendations for future cooperation
1. Developing a coordinated cooperation strategy • Build a strategy on sufficient information and analyse experiences from
PICTURE project; • Ensure support from high level experts both from EU and EECA building
on common needs of the both regions; • Involve the NCPs from EECA countries in the coordination process • Foresee trans-sector approach to raise the full potential of synergies
between different projects/programmes in EECA countries • Tailor a specific approach through addressing the situation of the EECA
country and its respective interests • To be complementary to the bilateral cooperation schemes among
individual European country with its partner from EECA • Increase the visibility of potential of the EECA research organisation as
well as market outcomes though proactive promotion
2. Using existing instruments to support the collaboration in Components, Computing Systems and Networks
• Support the implementation of coordinated activities between ETP Photonics and RTP Photonics
• Be flexible: reciprocity of efforts through requesting adequate contributions differs from one EECA country to another
• Raise the full potential of linking different organisations of the value chain
3. Establishing an efficient information system to support the exchange between EU and EECA communities
• “Physical” structure matter on infrastructural level (such as a platform, IS). It will be developed under upcoming EECA2HORIZON project
• Leave sufficient room for “live” discussions (events, workshops...) • Link and adapt to existing informational resources, which have proven
to be efficient, before “re-inventing the wheel”
Recommendations for future cooperation
4. Implementing impact assessment • Fill-in the methodological gap and develop tools to assess impact of the
collaboration under HORIZON 2020 and beyond
5. Deepen the work PICTURE WGs began by creation of ICT
communities • extend the EU-EECA cooperation in other ICT areas (e.g. GRID, Clouds,
Big Data…), attract leading R&D&I actors from both regions • support and strengthen the already established under PICTURE project
cooperation between European Technology Platforms and relevant EECA structures

Open discussion
1. Validation of the recommendations for future cooperation a. Can we use the recommendations for EU-RF cooperation proposed by
e-ARENA for EU-EECA cooperation (creation and support of joint ICT WGs)?
2. How can we use the list of relevant EECA organisations for future cooperation with ETPs?
3. NCP and TPs connectivity for deeper involvement of existing NCP structure into the future TPs EECA relevant projects (E2H, …). Are NCPs a good tool for TPs popularization and promotion of cooperation between them and relevant EECA structures/organisations in this area?
4. Outcomes of the Pilot action: what was achieved and what wasn’t. How to improve the outcome for the next projects
