COLORED NOISE
White noise is a uniform mixture of random energy at every frequency
Any kind of filtered noise signal can be called 'colored noise', which is just to say
that it is not a pure white noise
Pink Noise is the most common colored noise encountered
I will talk about 4 colored noises – Pink, Brown, Blue and Violet
Power Law Noise
A signal with components at all frequencies, with a power spectral density per
unit of bandwidth proportional to 1/fβ
β = 1 : Pink Noise Power density falls off at 10 dB/decade (−3 dB/octave)
β = 2 : Brown Noise Power density falls off at 20 dB/decade (−6 dB/octave)
β = -1 : Blue Noise Power density increases at 10 dB/decade (3 dB/octave)
β = -2 : Violet Noise Power density increases at 20 dB/decade (6 dB/octave)
