National Career Service is a vibrant platform which aims to transform and strengthen the public employment services in the country. It brings together Job Seekers, Employers, Skill Providers, Career Counsellors, Local Service Providers (LSP’s), Career Centers, Placement Organisations, Households and Government Departments on a common platform through the efficient use of information technology.

• Easy accessibility of employment services like staffing, placement and recruitment to all

the stakeholders

• Enhancing employability of the workforce by providing them information on training &

skilling information

• Provisioning of career counselling services

• Self-help & assessment tools of capabilities & vocational guidance services to jobseekers

• Providing information related to job profiles, career paths & employers

• PAN verified institutions and rich database of job seekers

• Career planning and rich career content on over 3500 occupations across 52 sectors

• NCS has partnerships with various private organizations like Uber, Monster,Quikr, etc.

and the data exchange on the portal helps connecting job seekers with more number of

prospective employers.

• 107 Model Career Centres (MCCs) have been set up and additional 100 MCCs are being planned.

• 21 National Career Service Centres for Differently Abled (NCSC-DA) persons are being run by DGE.

• 25 National Career Service Centres for SCs and STs (NCSC – SC/ST) for providing employment related training and guidance are being run by DGE.

➢ NCS participates in 4 – Days Career Conclave, 2019 The Directorate of Education, Govt. of NCT, and Delhi organized a Career Conclave from 28th to 31 st January, 2019 at Thyagraj Stadium, INA, New Delhi. The event aims to provide wide exposure to students studying in class XIIth in Government Schools about opportunities in technical, higher education, vocational and skill sectors. Team National Institute for Career Service, Noida also participated in the career conclave by setting up a stall of “National Career Service” and disseminated/counselled around 2000 students about the NCS portal, NCS android application, career related information available, skill sector specific employment opportunity available in the NCS portal to the various stakeholders.

➢ Training Session on Latest Trends Enabling Recruiting

National Career Service (NCS) Portal Training Session held in the workshop of Latest Trends Enabling Recruiting organized by Indian Staffing Federation on 18th January 2019 at The Royal Plaza, New Delhi. Presentation was addressed by the officials of the Ministry of Labour and Employment on National Career Service (NCS) Portal to the Recruiters, Leads of Staffing Companies and Corporates.

➢ Training for Trainers Program by Model Career Centre, Surat Training for Trainers Program was conducted at Model Career Centre Surat on 5th January, 2019 at Kaushal Vikas Kendra (KVK) Centres of Surat, Narmada & Tapi Districts of Gujarat State. During the programme, these trainers were also informed about NCS Portals features & utilities. This program was conducted jointly by the Government ITI Majura Gate, Surat and Pidilite.

➢ Career Counselling Session for “CCC” (Course on Computer Concept) Students Career Counselling Session was successfully organized by the Model Career Centre, NIELIT, Gorakhpur for “CCC” (Course on Computer Concept) students on 9th January, 2019. During the session, students were made aware about NCS and various opportunities and job oriented courses, that are being conducted at MCC, NIELIT Gorakhpur.

➢ Job Fair by Model Career Centre, Mehsana

Model Career Center, Mehsana organized a Job Fair at ITI, Mehsana, Gujarat on 5th January, 2019. More than 9 Companies including Torrent Pharmaceutical Ltd, Horizon Microtech participated in this event. Around 280 candidates from all categories, of different age groups, qualification and experience took part in the job fair out of which 232 candidates got shortlisted for the next round of interview.

➢ Imphal-boy secures Employment Opportunity in Suzuki Motors

S Suraj shared that he came to know about a placement drive by MCC NIELIT Imphal for Suzuki Motor Gujarat through radio news announcement. He participated in the drive held on the 6th July 2018 and gave MCQ aptitude test followed by a personal test and interview to get the job. Now, he is very satisfied with the decision to move out of his state Manipur and come to Gujarat to work in such a big company like Suzuki. He is happy and says that “His future looks bright”

➢ Differently-abled Datakhsha Praveen Writes Her Own Destiny

Datakhsha Parveen is a physically handicapped candidate and belongs to Kanpur (UP). She had already faced many challenges in her life. The biggest challenge for her was to get employment and to make her self-dependent. So, she joined Dr. Reddy's foundation (DRF) Grow where she got employability skills training. One day there was a seminar in which Young Professional, MS. Shivani Sharma came for an interaction with the students. During the session, students were told about NCS Portal and Model Career Center. After that, Datakhsha joined DRF and learnt things those were helpful for her to get employment in an organisation. Once, she came to know through her trainers that there would be a Job Fair in which Accenture is participating for PwD hiring. She was very happy because she was looking for an opportunity to show her talent. She got a chance to give an interview for job through Model Career Centre, Kanpur and got selected in a reputed organization like Accenture Solution. She is thankful to MCC, Kanpur for giving her this golden chance which has changed her life. She says “I hope they will keep continuously work like this and change lives of many person like me.”

➢ My dream came true through NCS Portal says Prince Sharma

"My name is Prince Sharma hailing from Shimla. I was working as Asst. Professor in one of the Private Universities of Shimla. But I always aspired to work in a Gov. College/University and through NCS Portal my dream came true. I applied for a job posted on this portal for IIIT UNA and I got selected there for the post of Junior Research Fellow. This portal is a good and transparent initiative of Ministry of Labor and Employment.

➢ Young, Independent and Proud: The Story

of Rakshi Lakra

Rakshi Lakra belongs to an economically weak tribal family from Village Mahalpada, Rourkela. To support her family she worked at photo studio shop as part time job and her family income was not enough to provide any such professional training course to make my dreams true. So, she completed short term skill development course in retail. She visited Model Career Centre-District Employment Exchange, Rourkela and met with Mr. S.K Prajapati sir for local job opportunity. She has been informed there about the National Career Service Portal and Recruitment Drive conducted in the month of August 2018. After getting the information, she appeared in the recruitment drive and secured a job as a Retail Sales Associates, at Vishal Mega Mart, Rourkela.
