GMGB manufactures activated alumina beads in two sizes: 2-5mm dia, and 5-8 mm dia by the State of the Art technology.Theproducts have at least equal to and, in some cases, betterproperties than what have been specified in the Bureau ofIndian Standards: BIS 9700 (Revised 1991). Specifically it hasvery high water adsorption capacity, and mechanical strength, and at the same time very low attrition loss. Its main applicationis in air drying; however, it may be used favourably forpurification of drinking water (fluoride removal), and removalof acidic vapours from gases. The robust nature of the productmakes it suitable for application in high pressure. GMGBActivated Alumina is designed to give a dew point of at ~east40°C in most conditions. However, in case of rigorousadsorptive drying under high pressure, the moisture content inthe exit gas or air may go down to less than 1ppm (i.e. a dewpoint of -70°C and better.)

Note:
. Surface Area by benzene adsorption method. The values are lower whenmeasured by BET nitrogen method (300-320 m2/gm). Owing tocarcinogenic threat to environment, safe method of nitrogen adsorption isadopted.
. For spheres of more than 5 mm diameter the specific surface and wateradsorption capacity values are approximately 10% lower than the abovefigures.

Packiof:Activated AhlInina is packed forindustrial use in airtight MS drums under hotcondition.with proper sealing arrangement so that there is no ingress ofmoisture during storage and transportation. Standard Packing: 210 Lit drumsize 565 x 850(N) mm.
Life:Activated Alumina has infinite shelflife, when stored in packed condition. Theactive service life would depend, bowever, on.the operating conditions of theplant, acfualapplication, and the usage by the customer.
Loading.;.Activated Alumina does notreqllire any specialprecaution or procedure duringloading. However, thehealthofthe grid supportis to be checked, and the vesselis to be cleaned of dust, foreign particles, etc. before the adsorbent is loaded.During actual loading, the material should be poured carefully through funneland chute so as to avoid dusting and attrition. The drums should not be kept inopencondition,as the adsorbentwouldadsorbmoisture.InCaseofprolongedexposure of the adsorbenttomoisture during storage /loading, it may requireprolonged regeneration at higher temperature to restore its full adsorptivecapacity.
MaterialSafetyData:The product as such is neither inflammable, nor toxic. Over all, it is nothazardous. Repeated exposure may irritate skin, eyes and respiratory system. The product gets hot as it istirst exposed to atmosphere due to adsorption ofmoisture.
Ref:eneration:Activated Alumina should be regenerated before first use. The regenerationtemperatures range from 1100 to 150° C. The higher the regenerationtemperature, the longer the.operating cycle time and the lower the exit dewpointofthe gas. Where high efficiency is needed( dewpoint better than 50°C),a regeneration temperature of at least 150°Cis required. If the regeneration gasis wet, a higher regeneration temperature of 200°-250°Cis required. For abetterperformance over prolonged period, GMGB's Activated Alumina should notbe exposed to temperatures above 350°Crepeatedly.
Applications:L Air Drying for DewPointofless than (minus) 40° C2. Drying of Feed Air to N2-O2Cryogenic Plant3. Purification of Process Stream by removing NF (LAB Plant), Chloride /
HCI from Contaminated gas flow.
