Life Skills The Ability Center’s Life Skills Department assists people with disabilities to develop skills for independent living and competitive
employment. Our department achieves this by providing classes and programming suitable for individuals ages 13-26 seeking post-secondary education or competitive employment. Resources also include peer support, recreational activities, and parent education.

Next Steps Summer ProgramNext Steps Summer Program is a five-week independent living and employment program. Community partners and a
team of Ability Center sta� create an environment full of hands-on learning facilitated on the campus of the University of Toledo. Students gain an inside look at professional entry-level employment opportunities at local job sites and attend
classes to further their education on employability.

community agencies and promotes opportunities to maximize independence and self-su�ciency in the community.
