Rodent EEG telemetry
Wireless, low cost, head-mounted EEG for rats
rodentPACK2 is a wireless, head-mounted telemetry system for rodents. It enables the acquisition of EEG and other biopotential signals, as well as temperature and activity/positional data - applications are varied, e.g. sleep and epilepsy studies, ECG recording.
rodentPACK2 transmits data via radiotelemetry, offering a well-tolerated, humane alternative to tethered EEG.
Direct inputs from the device to cortical and deep brain regions provide a high signal to noise ratio, facilitating the detection of EEG events.
rodentPACK2 consists of:
» a skull connector permanently implanted » a transmitter, connected to skull implant only during recordings » a receiver for 4 animals
9 signals are acquired for each rodentPACK2
» 4 biopotentials (EEG, ECG, EMG), sampled at up to 1000Hz » x/y/z accelerations sampled at 50Hz » global acceleration (computed from 3 axes), for activity assessment » core temperature

Epilepsy seizure detection
The EEG analyzer module can also be used to detect epilepsy seizures from EEG traces:
» automatic software seizures detection is performed using combined analysis of various parameters
» all detected seizures are logged in a table » manual edition of seizures limits is possible » invalid seizures can be deleted » undetected seizures can be created » valid seizures can be exported to text file

Neurobehavioral observationsemka TECHNOLOGIES’ integrated video capabilities facilitate behavioral observations without the confounding effects of investigator interaction.
Our secured video data is embedded in our data files and can be linked with other physiological signals, allowing the scientist to click on a change in a physiological parameter and observe the associated behavior.
The system features adjustable image resolution, and infrared recording for nighttime observations.
