Biography

Acharya Shunya is a truth teller and awakener of consciousness and heath.

She is an internationally recognized spiritual teacher, ordained lineage holder, authority and scholar of the Vedic Sciences of Ayurveda, Yoga and Vedanta and bestselling author.

In 2015, Acharya Shunya was featured in Spirituality and Health magazine as one of the top 100 trailblazers in Yoga and Ayurveda today. Acharya Shunya is President of the California Association of Ayurveda Medicine (CAAM); and Chair and Advisor to national and international organiza-tions including to the Government of India, and Ayurveda International Delegates Assembly, a 60-Country Ayurveda Consortium.

A rarity today, Acharya Shunya was born into an ancient Vedic lineage in northern India, where she spent fourteen years mastering classical texts. “Acharya” is a customary title earned from traditional schooling in India which means “a master teacher”.

Shunya has received prestigious awards both in the United States and India, including the award for distinguished service from the California Institute of Integral Studies and an award in excel-lence in education of Ayurveda and Yoga by the Association of Ayurveda Professionals of North America.

Today, Acharya Shunya teaches at Vedika Global, her spiritual community and wisdom school in northern California, instructs worldwide via online courses and leads retreats and workshops in-ternationally. Acharya Shunya’s graduates have offered Ayurveda and Yoga courses under her supervision at UNICEF and Stanford University’s Health Improvement Program and are certified to provide Ayurveda staff trainings at prisons and police departments across California.
