WAYS TO ENROL

“I moved to Australia five years ago with my family to escape the war in Sudan. When we first arrived I didn’t speak any English and I had to ask my husband to translate for me, a lot.

I started to complete a Certificate III in Children’s Services in 2011 but I was pregnant at the time and couldn’t finish the course. I then decided to try again in 2013 and enrolled in the ACE program.

Towards the end of the course I needed to return to my home country to be with my mother, she was very unwell at that time. Once again I thought I had missed out on completing my course again but ACE supported me when I came back. I am really happy I studied with ACE andcompleted my certificate. I now have work at a child care centre and I get to do what I love.”

Do you have current experience teaching adults? Perhaps you have the now superseded Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training (BSZ40198).This course is designed for people who have experience and wish to upgrade to the current qualification for VET training TAE40110. It is an online class that will fill in the gaps, in particular those relating to the VET systems and enable you to share your experience, reflections and ideas with other trainers.

The course is conducted online, so there are no attendance requirements but is facilitated so there is a real live trainer at the end of the internet connection. In the process of participating in discussion forums, responding to questions, researching information about the VET Quality Framework, and critiquing training and assessment strategies along with your peers, you will build up a portfolio of evidence that will be used to assess you for the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

“I teach people how to teach, whatever their skill or passion or vocation. I am a passionate believer that education opens doors and changes lives. Learning allows people to fulfil their potential. It allows them to make their dreams come true. There’s the old saying that if you work at something you love you never work a day in your life.

Education allows people to make a living doing what they love, and that makes teaching vocational education one of the most fulfilling careers there is.”

“In 2011, I completed a Dual Qualification (Certificate IV in Disabil-ity and Certificate IV in Home and Community Care). This course was life changing for me and opened manyopportunities within the Community Services sector. During this course I worked two jobs and had no idea of the industry. Without the support of the trainer I would not have been able to complete this course. I’m now working as a Community Care worker with adults, children and teenagers. I’m involved with supporting and teaching life skills to a men’s group. This year I have decided to further my studies with ACE in a Diploma of Community Services Work to move into case management/co-ordination roles within my career or may move into counselling.”

We then partner with our current local heavy vehicle training assessors who facilitate hands on training so that students are comfortable with their large vehicles on the road.

WORK READINESSACE works in partnership with many Aboriginal communities to enable a stronger skills base for running community land councils and offices. We train in computer skills as well as basic literacy and work based skills to ensure compliance and efficiency is reached for external funding obligations.
