The Array Accuseal expanding plug valve is a high integrity positive shut-o valve

designed or applications where tight shut-o, veriable zero lea rate and double bloc

and bleed (DBB) capabilities are required.

The Accuseal DBB valve is eective or a variety o applications including oshore

platorms, aviation ueling, tan arms, terminals, custody transer units, meter stations,

multiple-product maniolds, bul product isolation, LOTO (Locout/Tagout) and any double

bloc and bleed applications.

The Accuseal DBB valve oers many design advantages over alternative double bloc and

bleed systems that require two valves with a spool and bleed valve in-between. It also has

advantages when compared with many competitive single DBB valve designs.

The Accuseal DBB valve is a single valve solution that provides the unction o simultane-

ously blocing both the upstream and downstream ow while allowing the user to veriy

seal integrity utilizing a manual or automatic body bleed system.

All Accuseal DBB valves are manuactured per ISO 9001, monogrammed per API 6D, re

tested per API 607 and 6fA and have region-specic design certications such as CE/PED.

MoldedSeals: valve seals are molded into the slip, providing strength, durability

and long seal lie.

SealsRetractedDurigValveOperatio: Slip seals are ully retracted when the

valve is being opened or closed. This prevents abrasion o the seals during valve

operation, extends seal lie and ensures a perect seal every time.

OePiecePlug&Stem:The robust one piece design eliminates stem-to-plug

connection ailures common with many two-piece designs.

ProtectedPositioIdicator:The valve position indicator is protected by a durable

clear acrylic cover. This prevents accumulation o oreign materials that could

impair valve unction while providing ull visibility o the valve position indicator ag

at all times. When stem extensions, motor actuator its (MAks) or limit switch

assemblies are used with a valve, a special top cover with weather seal is used in

place o the acrylic cover.

CustomizedReliefSstemsAvailable: The Accuseal DBB valve comes standard

with an automatic dierential thermal relie (ADTR) system with manual bleed valve

option. Other types o relie systems are available upon request.

ReducedLeak-PathsiReliefSstem: The Accuseal ADTR system has ewer

threaded connections than many other designs. This reduces the probability o leas

in the system.

CabeAdaptedforMotorizedOperatio: The Accuseal DBB valve can be tted

with a motor actuator it (MAk) which allows it to accept most commercially

available electric actuators.

I-LieRepairable: The Accuseal DBB valve can be serviced without having to

remove the valve rom the line. Slips can be removed rom the bottom by removing

the bottom cover or rom the top by removing the upper bonnet.

able with valves rom some other commonly used manuacturers. Please contact

The upper port or relie system has been located on the upper

section o the valve body instead o on the lower portion o the valve

bonnet. This eliminates any need to disassemble the relie system

in order to remove the valve bonnet.

Some competitive DBB valve designs have the upper port or the

relie system located on the upper bonnet. Consequently, the relie

system needs to be dismantled whenever the upper trunnion or

pacing needs to be maintained or repaired.

By placing the relie system port on the upper section o the valve

body instead o the upper bonnet, the Array Accuseal DBB valve

eliminates these additional maintenance requirements.

Slip sealing suraces in the valve body cavity are either inlaid with

hard chrome or plated with electroless nicel to ensure a corro-

sion-ree sealing surace or slip seals.

prevents particulates rom accumulating in the valve body cavity

and interering with valve unction.

This system is designed to decrease excess pressure in the valve body cavity due to

temperature changes when the valve is in the closed position. It is similar to a thermal

relie to atmosphere system but has a manual valve that acts as an override so it has

both manual and automatic relie capabilities. The thermal relie system will vent toupstream when dierential pressure exceeds 25 psi. for the automatic relie system to

unction, the valve controlling the upstream vent must be ept open and the valve

controlling the manual bleed to atmosphere must be ept closed.

This is a very simple bleed system that is operated manually. When the valve is in the

closed position, the manual bleed valve can be opened to conrm plug seal integrity.

The manual bleed valve should be closed beore opening the plug.

gauge to measure the sealing integrity. A bubble tight seal can thereore be veried

APPLICATION NOTES

BiofuelsProductIsolatio:Secure sealing o Biouels is

critical in protecting the environment. The Accuseal DBB

with its veriable secure shuto is perect when process

must be contained.

Multi-ProductMaifolds:Some pipeline maniolds need

to ow various products (e.g. diesel, jet uel, gasoline etc.)

reliably and without contaminating one another. This

Accuseal DBB Valve is used to provide positive shut o

and zero leaage to prevent cross contamination.

ProverLoops: In prover loops., the calibration o ow

meters requires that every valve in the system must have

zero lea rate. Any lea could mean an error in calibration.

The Accuseal DBB Valve is used to ensure that when the

valves in the system are closed, they are lea tight.

CustodTrasferUits:Transer o valuable media relies

on accurate measurement o product. The Accuseal

DBB provide secure tight shuto ensuring that the

transer is accurate.

Termials:Loading and unloading taner vessels requires

positive sealing in order to prevent spillage into the water.

The Accuseal DBB provides such positive sealing and is

the most reliable in the maret.

TakFarms(OilDepots): Valves used or tan isolation

needs to wor reliably with zero lea rate. These valves are

also operated requently. The Accuseal DBB valves provide

a reliable long term high integrity seal designed or

requent use with veriable zero lea

AviatioFueligSstems:fuel hydrants at airports need to

allow or quic maintenance, repair, lea locating and

testing. This requires a valve that can close quicly and

positively seal o the relevant sections. The Accuseal DBB

valves veriable zero lea rate ensures that maintenace,

repair, lea locating and hydrant testing can be done quicly

and saely. Import/Export facilities

OffshorePlatforms:Secure shuto is imperative on an

oshore platorm in that leaage can result in contamination

o the water and possible equipment damage. The Accuseal

DBB is the best choice or low pressure positive shuto.

BledigUits:The accurate blending o high grade uels

requires valves o high sealing integrity to insure accurate

addition o additives in blending operations

VALVE OPERATION

OpeigtheValveTurn the hand-wheel counter clocwise. During this operation the plug is raised while the slips are retracted

away rom the body. When the slips are ully retracted rom the body seating area, the plug is then able to rotate 90 degrees tothe ully open position. When the valve is in the ull open position, the slips and slip seals are completely protected rom line ow.

ClosigtheValve: Turn the hand-wheel clocwise. During this operation the retracted plug and slips are rotated 90 degrees

without body contact. This rotation continues until the slips are positioned over the upstream and downstream port areas.

Continued rotation o hand-wheel mechanically orces the plug downward and orces the slips outward to seal rmly against the

valve body. This produces a secondary metal to metal seal on both upstream and downstream areas providing double isolation.
