Welcome to the 6th annual Vit-Buckle society Meeting, six on the Beach.

The VBS Executive Board wishes to thank you for your support. We’re proud

to host the meeting at The Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, featuring

LiV, one of the top nightclubs, along with some of the finest restaurants

and accommodations.

To all attendees: if you are a recurrent VBS attendee, welcome back! if you

are a first timer, you are in for a very unique experience. We are combining

live surgery with a very dynamic, energetic program full of discussions,

interruptions and fact checking moments. Ours is a meeting where the

podium talk is kept real! We hope to highlight up-and-coming young

surgeons while we continue to learn from the moderating of well-known

retina specialists. VBS is interactive and fun!

We are proud to have Mark S. Humayun, MD, PhD as our Keynote speaker

and Jay Duker, MD as our Mentor lecturer. We plan to kick off our meeting

Thursday evening with the popular Fellows’ Foray program. Don your finest

polyester and platforms for disco night at LiV on Friday evening and prepare

to enjoy an always entertaining closing dinner on Saturday at Scarpetta.

Be ready to express your thoughts, ask questions, tell us about your

surgical experiences or share new ideas of techniques/instruments.

Do not be shy, we want to hear from you. We deliberately organize this

meeting to be interactive. Everyone is a participant. Everyone is a speaker.

industry will also be there for you to intermingle with. You will never attend

a meeting that better fosters constant engagement and interaction. This

is all made possible by the support of our great corporate partners who

listen to our needs and make our field much better for us all.

Once again, thank you for your support of VBS!

Sincerely,

Derek Y. Kunimoto, MD, JD and R. Ross Lakhanpal, MD
