The supply air is connected to port 1 of the adapter plate, which is supplied to the port 1 of the pilot valve through the extended NAMUR interface according to VDI/VDE 3847. An external air supply can be used at port 9 of the adapter plate for pilot-operated valves. The port 3 of the adapter plate can be used for an optional exhaust air feedback of other valve accessories.

If the pilot valve does not have a separate venting, install a venting plug in the pipe connection at port 3.

The adapter plate allows the pilot valve to be exchanged without making any changes to the air supply lines.Refer to Fig. 6

The adapter plate is used to implement the closed-circuit principle. The adapter plate connects port 9 of the mounting block to the port 9 and port 3 of the pilot valve. As a result, closed-loop control of the actuator takes place when the pilot valve is energized. When the pilot valve is de-energized, the actuator is filled with air.

4.7 Adapter plate (open-circuit principle)Adapter plate made of aluminum (powder coated), for pilot valves with NAMUR interface according to VDI/VDE 3845 on mounting blocks for positioners with NAMUR interface ac-cording to VDI/VDE 3847 including fastening screws and gaskets.

Use: For pilot valves with NAMUR interface ½ according to VDI/VDE 3845.The adapter plate is mounted between the mounting block and pilot valve. The adapter plate is used to implement the open-circuit principle. The adapter plate allows port 9 of the mounting block to be connected to the port 1 of the pilot valve over an external pipe connection. At the same time, port 2 and port 3 of the mounting block are turned in the adapter plate. As a result, closed-loop control of the actuator takes place when the pilot valve is de-energized. When the pilot valve is energized, the actuator is filled with air.

The pilot valve must have a sealable venting port.

An additional option of the adapter plate involves the reversal of the direction of action from NC to NO with pilot-operated pilot valves with external air supply or directly controlled pilot valves. The external pipe connection must be connected to port 9 of a pilot-operated pilot valve. The connection for the external pipe connection of directly controlled pilot valves must be sealed.Refer to Fig. 27
