• Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity. It is a vector quantity.

• The units used for acceleration are m/s2
• This actually means meters per second per second.
• Let’s have a look a sample problem 1 on page 374.

• On a velocity time graph, the slope of the line = the acceleration.

• Negative acceleration is when the final velocity() is less than the initial velocity ().
