ACBSP Standard #4
Business schools and programs must have an outcomes assessment program with
documentation of the results and evidence that the results are being used for the
development and/or improvement of the institution’s academic programs. Each business
school or program is responsible for developing its own outcomes assessment program.
CRITERIA
Use following criteria to document the extent to which the business school or program
meets the standard for Measurement and Analysis of Student Learning and
Performance. Justify any omissions.
Criterion 4.1. The business unit shall have a learning outcomes assessment program.
Table 4.1 below lists the learning outcomes for each academic program along with their
respective measuring instruments, achievement targets, results and follow-up action plans in
response to the results. Except for the ETS Major Field Test administered to all business majors
in their capstone class, all direct assessment measures are embedded in relevant courses and,
where appropriate, graded via a departmental scoring rubric. Three year assessment data are
presented under criterion 4.2.
Additionally, the College of Business Administration also uses indirect measures
(Educational Benchmarking Institute Surveys) please refer to criterion 3.h. in Standard #3.
