2020Prom Information and Dress Guidelines

Purpose:

◦ The Purpose of this presentation is to outline & clarify the Formal Dress expectations for Providence Academy’s 2020 Prom.

◦ Students must meet these expectations in order to be admitted to Prom.

◦Time: 7 pm – 11 pm

◦Location: Windows on Minnesota at the IDS Center

◦Address: 710 S Marquette Ave 50th floor,

◦Dress: Formal Attire (PA Guidelines)

◦Dinner Served? Yes

◦Parking: Available on site, at attendees expense

Admission Guidelines

◦All attendees must:◦Be in 11th or 12th grade◦ Sophomores may attend if they are a guest of an 11th or 12th grader

Admission Guidelines

◦All attendees must:◦ Purchase a ticket from a USSC member. ◦ Have a hard-copy of the signed permission form submitted to the US office prior to 3:15 pm on 5/8.

◦ Submit to an on-site breathalyzer upon arrival at the dance.

◦ Arrive at the venue no later than 8pm.

Dates and Guests

◦ 11th and 12th grade students may invite guests: ◦ Who are of the opposite sex◦ Are currently enrolled in 10th – 12th grade or are an

Alumni/Alumna under the age of 21◦ No freshmen may attend

◦ Guests from outside the Providence Community must: ◦ have a guest form signed by an administrator and

approved by Mr. Blonski. ◦ Abide by PA prom guidelines and expectations.

Formal Dress Guidelines for Ladies’ & Gentlemen◦Guiding Principle:

◦Attire must be in keeping with PA’s general requirements of neatness, cleanliness, and modesty

Ladies’ Formal Dress Guidelines

◦For the Dress/Gown◦ The front should be no lower than 4 inches below the top of the sternum, and the back of the dress must not be lower than a standard bra-strap.

Ladies’ Formal Dress Guidelines

◦For the Dress/Gown◦ Should not exceed 4

inches above the knee ◦ Should be solid/opaque. 

Any lace/sheer overlay is not considered when accounting for the length of the dress.

◦ The wearing of nylons, leggings, tights, etc. does not negate the length requirement

Ladies’ Formal Dress Guidelines

◦For the Dress/Gown◦May have a slit no higher than 4 inches above the knee.

◦May not have panel cut-outs or exposed midriff. Any lace/sheer overlay is not considered when accounting for panels.
