IntroductionIn fact, the total number of students enrolled in KMC plus two in the Academic Year 2017/2018 was 3300 which is a testimony to the faith of parents/guardians in the quality education of the college. Past NEB Aggregate Result of KMC

The Faculty of Management at KMC has made us feel proud through their outstanding result in NEB examinations every year. It is all due to its excellent learning environment, proper care, well experienced faculty and their team work that have really facilitated to give an outlet to true caliber of the students.

The faculty incorporates modern teaching methodologies in teaching by understanding the Management students’ need. Rather than imposing the lofty ideas through lectures, the students are encouraged in group work, pair work and researches so that they could learn by doing.

>> BISHNU-RADHA AWARD of Rs. 10,001/- cash along with a trophy, established by Mr. Bishnu Prasad Sharma, Founder Chairman of KMC will be awarded to any two KMC faculty toppers in NEB Exam of Class XI.

Admission in KMC is based on its entrance exam. Students must meet the criteria set by the college. SCIENCEStudents securing at least 2.85 GPA in SEE or in an equivalent recognized

ScholarshipDistrict Education Office (DEO) ScholarshipDEO, Kathmandu provides 3% scholarship to students who have passed their SEE

from government school.

Criteria for 3% scholarship: Student should be enlisted in merit list in scholarship examination which will be

conducted by DEO and they should not be admitted to school to get the scholarship.

DEO provides 2% scholarship to students who have passed their SEE from private

schools.

Criteria for 2% scholarship: Students should be enlisted in merit list in KMC Entrance Examination. Students

should be admitted to the school to get scholarship.

Research helps students to identify real solutions of problems. It also helps them to come up with innovative ideas and conclusions. Presentation helps to communicate those findings of the research. It boosts public speaking experience and deepens one’s own understanding. It boosts confidence and provides valuable feedback for exploration of own’s own strength.

Students of Management should present their research in individual or in group. KMC provides well equipped seminar hall and well experienced human resource to boost presentation skills to our students. Students of Science present their curricular topics in regular interval.

PhilosophyKMC views counseling as an essential service. Our philosophy is based on the belief that each student is a unique individual with specific needs. We also recognize the importance of supporting the positive growth of each individual in the academic field, social/emotional issues, and future career planning. We have found that a guidance program like ours plays a key role in meeting these needs and personal development.

CurriculumBoth classroom and individual counselling sessions are available at each grade level. The curriculum incorporates self-awareness, guidance, decision-making and problem-solving strategies, presentations on academic course selections and planning, registration information, college and career planning guidance.

Support ServicesThis includes counselling and guidance presentations/activities to meet the needs and concerns of the students, parents, faculty, and staff members. Individual or group counseling ranges from problem solving issues to crisis counseling which could include mental health services.

Individual Motivation and Plan-ningThis assists students with academic and career planning. The Life Skills class is supportive in preparing students for transition issues and independent living.

System SupportThroughout the school year there are activities, presentations, and services for students aimed at giving support to the Guidance and Counseling Program goals. Peer tutoring, orientations, staff development, parent conferences, special services, and student activities are all examples of such planned student outreach.

Counseling Programs

LABORATORIES KMC has sophisticated and well outfitted modern laboratories to retain practical know-how to the students and strengthen their understanding horizon. It has separate physics, chemistry, zoology and botany labs.

Similarly, the computer labs at KMC are well organized and well equipped with cutting edge computers with latest software and technologies having unlimited internet access. The teachers take utmost care to provide every student with firsthand knowledge of Computer Science.

FacilitiesHOSTELSKMC provides separate hostel facilities for girls and boys, including hygienic food, intensive care, study support, sports and entertainment.

SECURITYSafeguarding the well being of all students and staff is a prime concern of the plus two colleges these days. KMC employs twenty four hour security system by professional, well trained and alert security personnel who are dedicated to provide a safe, peaceful campus for students’ enjoyment and an environment conducive to academic endeavors. In addition, there are security cameras to help maintain safety and to discourage bully and misbehavior of students in the school premises.

HEALTH CAREKMC provides health care and medical emergencies to the students as and when considered necessary. The Medical Room is well equipped to provide First Aid to the injured and ill students. The school also has a full time nurse to cater to the needs of the sick. There are separate sickrooms for girls and boys. KMC also conduct regular health camps.

LIBRARYThe school provides updated and rich library to facilitate the teaching-learning process. It has a wide collection of books, periodicals, videos and CD-ROMs, e-library. It also provides updated medical and engineering entrance preparation

books and other materials.

SEMINAR HALLThe college has two well equipped seminar halls with the capacity of 200 seats for different kinds of interaction programmes, presentation to boost up confidence level of student, trainings and workshop.

KMC @ Lalitpur KMC also has its plus two unit at Balkumari Lalitpur in the name of NATIONAL HSS. NATIONAL is owned by Kathmandu Model College in the year 2013. With the proactive presence and support of KMC and its qualified, dedicated management team and faculties NATIONAL HSS aims at achieving excellence in the academic arena. NATIONAL is integrated part of KMC, so the same academic calendar is implemented. Himalaya College of Engineering (HCOE) is affiliated to Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal. Established in June 2000 AD, it is producing qualified engineers who are the backbone of development of the nation. KMC School Buddhanagar, Kathmandu

KMC School established in 2006 is a junior wing of Kathmandu Model College. Within twelve years of establishment, it has proved its academic excellence. The SLC result is up to 100% distinction.

The school located at Buddhanagar, New Baneshwor, occupies open space about 15 ropanies of land and greeneries around it. It lies at a peaceful location away from the population , which helps the children to broaden the mental horizon in open and fresh surroundings. Kathmandu Model Research Foundation (KMRF) is a not-for-profit distribution research institution promoted by KMC Educational Network and Nepalese research scholars in 2008 aiming to promote research culture in educational institutions in particular, and in other institutions, in general.

It focuses on faculty development, promotion of student-centric teaching-learning process, knowledge creation, knowledge advocacy, community development and information dissemination through publication and training.

New Summit College (Affiliated to TU)

New Summit College is a well-established educational institution in the prime location of Kathmandu city. It is run as an associate of KMC Educational Network, with a team of young and dynamic educators, consisting of scholars, educationalists and professionals. NSC was established in 1998 with higher secondary programs in Science, Management and Humanities. The College has successfully marked its glorious academic history of 18 years. Currently the college has four different academic programs in operation. It runs Bachelor’s Level programs such as BSc. CSIT and BBS (affiliated to Tribhuvan University).

New Summit Secondary School

New Summit School was established in 1997 as a full-time, special purpose, co-educational school offering classes for students in Kindergarten to 12th grade in Science and Management. Although New Summit School (NSS) is designed similarly to traditional schools, emphasis is placed on keeping instructional groups small and teaching to the individual student in a positive and stimulating environment. NSS is committed to an educational philosophy that considers the diverse needs of today’s students and families. Our goal is to promote academic achievement and social growth within an environment enriched by economic and ethnic diversity.

KMC reaffirms its determination to build on the achievement of recent excellent performance in the form of 100% success in Humanities, Science and Management. The growing number of students every year reveals our popularity and reputation. Kathmandu Model College (KMC), established in 2000, has its own educational network which consists of the Secondary School and

(English), MBS and KMC School that runs classes from playgroup to class X. Since May 2007, Himalaya College of Engineering, affiliated

to TU, has come under the umbrella of KMC network, and New Summit College has also come under its network. In a few years of

time, KMC has become a top ranking college in the nation. Besides KMSS Bagbazar, there are 11 different academic institutions.

Butwal Model College (Affiliated to Pokhara University)

Padsari, Rupandehi

Butwal Model College was establishd in the year 2009 with affiliation from Pokhara University. It is the first affiliated college, for MPGD course. This program was launched under tripartite agreement between UNFPA, Government of Nepal and Pokhara University to produce development professionals with a sound knowledge about cross cutting issues of population, gender and development. The college launched BBA and BHM program under the same affiliation to produce the management professionals in the country.

Universal College

Shantinagar, Kathmandu

Universal College was establishd in the year 1997 AD. It conducts BBA, BBS, BA and MA (English) affiliated to Tribhuwan University . Universal college comes under the management of KMC Educational Network in 2017.

It provides a solid foundation to help students build and promote their careers in their respective disciplines, the college team has tried hard to encourage students to explore and develop their potential by giving emphasis on critical thinking, communicative skills, collaborations, creativity and use of technology. Special focus is given on learning by doing through seminars, workshops, presentations, group discussions, project works, educational tours etc. Every year UC admits a limited number of students in Science, Management and Humanities.

National Secondary SchoolBalkumari, Lalitpur

National SS started its academic venture in 1997 under the name of ‘National Campus’.

NATIONAL is owned by Kathmandu Model College in the year 2013. With the proactive presence and support of KMC and its qualified, dedicated management team and faculties NATIONAL SS aims at achieving excellence in the academic arena. National runs plus two program in Science, Management and Humanities following the same academic calendar of Kathmandu Model Secondary School.

It is a junior wing of Universal College It conducts classes from play group to class 10.

Apollo International College(Affiliated to Pokhara University)

New Baneshwor, Kathmandu

Apollo International College (AIC) established in 2010 AD right in the heart of the capital city-New Baneshwor has its Bachelor of business Administration BBA program affiliated to Pokhara University. AIC is designed to produce professional managers with sound conceptual foundation and practical skills in various areas of business. It has been managed by a strong team of professionals and academics who possess valuable experience in educational networks.
